They do not care about their patients and they only care about money!! Absolutely horrible - I drove 4 hours round trip to take my dog here for a dermatology appointment. My local vet referred us here for our dog so I brought my dog to this vet in Early 2020 since my dog had horrible rashes. We paid the vet over $1000. The vet put my dog on a food trial to test for food allergies. A month later, I called the vet asking what was next, since my dog had only a few weeks left of food(would have thought they would have called me to explain the next steps of the process but they didn't). The vet told us that we needed to extend her food trial another month, but if our dog continued to show symptoms that they would schedule an appointment for her. We are now in the month of August. My dog still has rashes all over her and itching, even though she was on the food trail. I have called once a week for 2 months wanting to know our options and if they could see our dog. The receptionist keeps telling me that the doctor knows that I have called and will call me soon. I have not heard anything. How does it take them 3 months to contact us back. Do not use this place if you remotely care for your pet. We spent over $1000 for nothing. When I do keep calling, I get yelled out by the receptionist. She keeps telling me that they have more critical patients and cannot make time for a dermatology patient. (BTW we have obviously taken our dog to a new vet because we needed to get this fixed) FYI MARKETING TEAM: I got a call from the Dermatologist on August 4th. He flat out told me that he forgot my dog. He then mentioned that they have no system to notify them on checkins and it was his responsibility to follow up with us and HE FORGOT! He has NOT been calling since May. He has called 2 times. Once for extending her food trial, and one to put her on a different medicine (I asked her not to be put on said medicine because it cause her to throw up, but he prescribed it to her anyways) You can see the attached image to see what was discussed on the calls. I am not sure what you mean that Derm had been treating my dog without seeing her. The derm. told me that one of his other team-members saw her in Emergency. How do you allow doctors to treat patients without seeing them? Yes the doctor offered my an appointment so he could see my dog. Yes I did decline, but it is because I move to NC in a week for a new job. I told the doctor this, but said I would like her to get better before the trip. I expressed that I could not see him, but I asked for a referral in NC. He sent me 2 Dermatologist's information. He then felt bad and prescribed my dog an antibiotic (the same that was prescribed to her in emergency). I get that Covid has caused things to be different. It was not communicated to me that Derm. was not seeing patients. When my dog came into ER, derm looked at her. Why would they put her on 2 different trials if they could not follow up to see her? Why did derm. call me to extend her food trail and say they would do a follow up in June if they were not seeing patients? I have been lied to. All the doctor had to say was "Hey if things get back to normal, we would like to see her in June for a follow up" or when she came in ER how about the vet on duty tell me that even though she is on a food trial, she might not be to get see, because priority is going for more critical patients. This all stems down to a lack of communication. Don't you dare blame me and make me seem like the bad guy!! Your team has already told me THEY FORGOT to contact us and blame is on them!!! The doctor even said he never received my messages. Once again blame is put on YOUR team. The Derm. flat out told me that the answering service has had a bad habit of this and that because of the lack of process in place many of the team are leaving, including the Derm himself. Maybe instead at pointing fingers at your customers, you look what you can change internally.

Great, pleasant, knowledgeable, staff. I drove two and half hours to get Rigel looked at. Everyone form Traverse City to Grand Rapids, to Dearborn couldn't get her in for a month. I called MSU, and they were booked up about the same time. About a week later, Lisa the great called and said there was a opening in couple of days, I got her in, and they got her in next day after that to remove a cancerous toe, that hurt her so badly that she refused to go outside to relieve herself, when she walked she would walk on inside of her foot. They called day after release to check on her, when they changed dressing, they called next day to check on her. I'm very grateful for what the did for her, if you ever need more than vaccination I would only trust MSU

Was referred here by a veterinary cardiologist(photo taken from their office 2/10) for a urgent surgical consult. I was told that because my dog was in stable condition and was not transferred directly into their care that I had to schedule an appointment regardless which was about a month from now. They also informed me that I could "try" to get in sooner by having my dogs primary vet call and explain the situation to them they could "try" to get him in sooner. Well that was Friday 2/11 and my dog ended up passing away late Saturday night. So if your trying to save any of your beloved animals do yourself and them a favor and don't even bother calling this place as they could honestly care less.

I recently had my beloved kitty go through a four day stay in the MSU Veterinary Hospital. They were very nice, but that's it. During his (my kitty) stay there, he saw Dr. Nillis, who was very good at calling me with updates, followed by a rundown of what I owe up til now and what he would need permission to to this test, and that test.... He mostly just needed verbal confirmation that I would be able to pay. Especially when they went over their original estimate of $3,000. Which I was required to pay half....which I did and then more. It was NOT about money for me it was all about money for the MSU Veterinary Clinic. They released to me a very very sick cat. He was unable to walk for the first four days home, he is far sicker now than he has ever been in his life. I would gladly spend three times 4 times a million dollars whatever it took to get my cat at the very least diagnosed. I would think they would at least be able to get to a diagnosis but all they did was keep him there, and do test that were not only unnecessary, but one was taken the most expensive one was taken when my cat was not fasted. What kind of Veterinarian would do that?. Ask for your permission for a test, informing you that it's the best thing they can do for your cat and that they would hopefully find out what's wrong with him. I come to find out from Doctor "O". That that test was not to be taken (because my cat hadn't been fasting) and she had to cancel it in time for it not to be on my bill. Lord knows what else is on my bill that was not necessary. But like I said it's not about the money, it was about the money for the vets at MSU Veterinary Clinic. They have their hands tied and cannot really perform their duties properly if they have to get verbal confirmation for every single test. Blood panel after blood panel. Also he showed no infection prior to going into MSU Veterinary Hospital. I have proof from a prior bood test, by a previous Vet. Sadly, after two days in the hospital he showed they had an infection. They still need to call me back with the results. They got the basic results to me for his discharge. But I am still waiting back on the culture. I have no idea if I'm giving him the proper antibiotic. They said they would call in another one if that was the case. But I have heard nothing from MSU. To stay congruent with my cats care I had hoped Dr. O or Dr. Nillis would want to know. All I know is that I have a very sick cat in my hands. That over the week this past weekend, I had planned to bring him in somewhere to be put down. He came home that sick. Not certain where to go from here. I've spent over $4,000, and I am not rich, but so very willing to pay and I will be all paid up in his bill this next month. Sadly I have no more money to do anything with my poor sick kitty. Dr.oh seemed more knowledgeable. Dr Nillis seemed genuine, but just did the same stuff over and over again, the more I read his file for my cat, the more upset I get. Please if there is anyone out there that can offer any advice even MSU. I would hope I'd be able to bring my kitty right back in if I was worried, especially considering putting him down, it has not been fair on my cat. My kitty now has a runny nose, was wheezing badly, through his nose. They didn't bother to clean him up after he had obviously gotten sick at the hospital. Poop in him. Just a mess! Please tell me what more can I do? What just happened to my cat??? I wish I had never taken him to MSU Veterinary Hospital. What do I do if he needs to be put down? ...

I have never left a negative review anywhere in my life before because that’s not the kind of person I am. However, when it affects the health and life of my pet, I am willing to make an exception. My new puppy was coughing and having difficulty breathing. He was triaged into the emergency unit at MSU under suggestion from his normal vet, since MSU is the only place that staff available 24/7 that would be able to constantly monitor him. He was kept overnight and sent home the following afternoon. We were given 5 days of antibiotics and told his cough would improve on the medication, but that if we had any questions or concerns to call anytime. I left feeling optimistic and thankful that my puppy would recover. However, several days had passed and his cough seemed to be getting worse. I called them to ask if this was normal and I was told his doctor would be out of the office and unavailable until the following week. We were worried sick and could not get anyone to return our multiple calls and messages. Then, on the last day antibiotics, he bit into the pill and spilled the contents of the capsule. Panicked, I called them to see if they could replace a pill so he wouldn’t have to go without his medication. The pharmacist very rudely told me they couldn’t do that because it had to be approved by his doctor and she was not available until the following week. I then asked if it could just be approved by another doctor and again, very rudely, she told me they didn’t have ANY doctors on site and that she couldn’t help me but that she would call me back in a few minutes after trying to get a hold of someone. No one ever called me back. What kind of emergency vet doesn’t have any doctors available? We got the pill replaced with no problem at his regular vet because MSU was so unhelpful. Several days later, I received a very brief voicemail saying that my puppy’s bloodwork came back and he tested positive for multiple troubling, potentially life threatening things. I called them in tears with questions because I didn’t know what any of it meant and didn’t know if he would survive. They told me his doctor was unavailable but that they could leave a message with her and she would call back. No one ever called me back. I called his regular vet crying and he said he would call MSU to get his file sent over so we didn’t have to go through MSU anymore. MSU never called him back either. I spent over a week physically sick with worry trying to get answers and just TALK to someone and no one felt it was important enough to call me back about or follow up on, even after spending $2,000 dollars there. I am trying to save another pet parent from having to go through what I had to go through. Please...
