HORRIBLE experience with a new manager that cost them a loyal customer. For years we've order from PH and more often than not, they get our order wrong, not my fault, they need to train their students better and/or have them READ the order. It didn't matter whether we ordered through grub hub or directly from the restaurant, they mostly got our orders wrong. Over the past few years there have been manager's who've been professional, apologized and provided some form of compensation. I've also offered to provide proof by sending a picture through text so that they could see we weren't lying. Fast forward to last night. I've noticed over the past few times (couple of months) that we've ordered from PH that when they got the orders wrong either through grub-hub or through a direct call, he would not provide compensation and provided a poor apology. He also seemed to have an attitude. Last night, we ordered a chicken Romano crusted chicken sandwich (they always either don't know they have this item on their menu or the cooks are just daft. Every time we order this sandwich they get it wrong 9x out of 10. My food was a grilled chicken sandwich and it was COLD, the fries were NOT fresh. So, we called and told the manager, ANDY this and he kindly apologized and offered compensation for the mishap, he was even generous enough to ask if we wanted something at no charge off of the menu, my daughter ordered some bacon and cheese fries and happily ended the call. Fast forward to receiving our food, the driver who was rude, had our fresh food in a bag and requested the old food. We indicated we have my daughter's, I heated mine in the microwave and ate some and threw it out ( it didn't taste good), he took my daughter's which they would have seen was incorrect when they got back to the restaurant to inspect it and said he couldn't give us the fresh order without ALL of the food, courtesy of his manager ANDY. Now if you've read this, you'd know that ANDY never said this over the phone to us. So, I called Andy as the rude driver took all the food he had and left. Andy gave a lame apology, when I asked if this was a new policy of PH he said yes it was but couldn't provide me with an explanation as to why he didn't mention it during our phone conversation and WHY he compensated us. He said "wrong orders happen a lot at this address." I said, "yes it does, train your workers to get it right, it's not our fault that they do, if he would have requested for us to keep the old food on hold and that they'd pick it up, that is what I would have done." Andy had NO response other than, blah, blah, blah. We were compensated, with a full refund BUT the experience left a sour taste in our mouths. I will no longer be a customer at PH, which is a shame because I ordered from them quite often due to a seriously busy schedule. Now, they've lost money and got a bad review thanks to the incompetent of dear ol Andy and his rude driver. So long...
Read moreWent to Pizza House for dinner with wife and 2 daughters on a Saturday evening. Seated immediately, drink orders taken immediately. Drinks brought back (3 soft drinks, 1 beer) quickly, all going well. Orders included a chicken pesto sandwich, boneless wings with fries, sirloin (medium well), shrimp quesadilla, with salads as sides for two of us. Also ordered artichoke dip as appetizer. Appetizer was very good. Had to wait on cutlery and napkins as none were present prior to appetizer and salads arriving , but were brought out quickly after realization.
The main problem was the food. It was literally horrible. I’ve included a picture of my wife’s medium well sirloin… it was a stretch to call it medium rare. Her steak came with seasonal vegetables… I agree with a prior review from a another recent customer that the food being served was frozen and microwaved because the vegetables were wet, soft/soggy, served in a separate bowl and had absolutely no flavor. They were very bad. Daughter that ordered chicken pesto sandwich couldn’t eat it because when we got it, the bun was so soggy on the bottom it was like eating bread that had been soaked in water. I don’t know how it was even possible to make the bun that wet. I included pic of the bun. Finally, my quesadilla was fair, barely… the tortilla truly seemed microwaved, not crisp at all… but worst part was the lettuce and tomatoes on the side… note the brown on the lettuce in the pic provided.
The most irritating part of the whole experience was the price was $132 before tip; server asked if food was ok, showed her the steak and bun and she said “ yeah sorry about that”. I know she didn’t make the food, but c’mon. $132 for a dinner for 4 where the salsa and sour cream for the quesadilla is served in little plastic solo cups with a lid.
Done with Pizza House as we’ve had questionable visits in the past. I am certain I will receive no response from manager/owners, even though it was a question during electronic paying of bill and I provided my cell… if I do, I’ll edit this post.
As an update, 2 weeks later, no contact from pizza house, even tho, as stated above, I indicated on checkout ( digital system when paying bill) that I...
Read moreI went with my boyfriend, friends and his family to have pizza and celebrate his birthday. Usually things have been great when we go to pizza house, however recently I found out that I have an intolerance to dairy and on top of that I don't eat meat. Therefore, I have had to change what I order. One thing I will mention is that this is not a very inclusive place to go if you suffer from food allergens or vegan options.
When ordering my pizza I asked the waiter if the crust had dairy ingredients and he had no idea. I had explained that I have an intolerance and he went to go back to ask his manger or the chef whether or not the crust was dairy free. He mentioned that he had to ask a bunch of people when he got back because nobody seemed to know the answer. However, he thought that there was probably butter in the crust. I asked about the gluten free option and sure enough he had to go back and ask the staff again and came back uncertain whether or not the gluten free option was vegan friendly or dairy free. This caused me a lot of discomfort and embarrassment. Finally, I caved in and thought the gluten free option would be the safest bet so I went ahead and ordered my pizza because everyone at our table was hungry and waiting for my questions to be answered. The crust I later found out had egg whites in it. My stomach wasnt happy afterwards. My wallet wasn't happy either... Mind you, I ordered a small pizza gluten free crust which I later found out was also thin crust and not a thick crust. The pizza had no cheese and three toppings. The total cost for the whole pizza was $30.00. The pizza without cheese is the same price as a pizza with cheese and the toppings are $1.50 and a dollar is added to every next size pizza you get. I am super displeased and very upset. I was left feeling hungry afterwards and had to get a second dinner somewhere else. I hope in the future you work on training your staff about the ingredients in your food so you can give clear information to your customers without conveying uncertainty. You could severely hurt someone with a more serious food allergen or...
