Tropical Sun supermarket in East Orange is a true gem for anyone looking for Caribbean food and products. As soon as you walk through the door, you're transported back to the islands with the incredible selection of products and groceries that you just can't find anywhere else.
One of my favorite things about this supermarket is the amazing selection of island selections that they offer. From jerk seasoning and hot pepper sauce to coconut water and fresh plantains, they have everything you need to recreate your favorite island dishes at home.
But it's not just the selection that makes Tropical Sun so great - it's also the quality of the products. Everything is fresh and authentic, and you can really taste the difference. It's like you're back home, enjoying the flavors and tastes that you remember from your childhood.
And the staff at Tropical Sun are simply amazing. They're knowledgeable about the products and are always happy to help you find what you're looking for. They're friendly and welcoming, making you feel like you're part...
Read moreComing from NYC to Jersey it is hard to find a good market with a variety of back home Jamaican produce and products, bammy, breadfruit, real salt fish, salt pig tail, various selections of spices and Jamaican good and the good scotch bonnet. Only have one small selection in Shoprite and they put Grace products which I was annoyed with. I googled and found Tropical Sun. Took the trip and I have been going ever since. I was impressed they had everything I wanted and needed plus more. I gave it 4 stars because the neighborhood looked sketchy, you have to park in the back but who would know that. No sign. Also you can’t pull the shopping cart all the way to your car. There are poles to block it. I mean u can drive up to the door park your car and load it from there. Just so inconvenient but if you have a few bags and could carry it to your car no big deal. One other thing I dislike is the meat section looks kinda unfresh. I’m not there for that. However overall it’s a good spot...
Read moreI gave it 4 stars because it is just not the best (well, in local small private business) I have and will ever see. If no body tells you that you have to go around by Winans St to go in the back of it. You would never know that it actually does provide parking space for you, customer. 4 star again because if you happen to be not South American or from the Caribbeans, it is most likely that you won't find "each" thing on your list. But that's why I like it me. Because, more and more it surprises me with more stuff, more of our products and spices. It can get very busy there because the have great prices. I go there before I go to shopRite or any others. They also have a separate whole section, like it was an other store (you have to go out) for fresh seafood. It is clean and I have nothing to complain about the cashiers...
