Went there on a Saturday evening, it was new to me so I wanted to give them a try, I got a sweet and spicy chicken dinner with rice &peas cabbage It Looked so Inviting I couldn't wait to get home, I got home and Boy was I Disappointed the Chicken was Tougher than Leather Cabbage was Raw (Not Cooked) tried to call but by that time they were closed they wasn't open Sunday so Monday I called (I can admit I was a little salty about my experience there because the food Looked like it wasn't Freshly Cooked) So I spoke to the woman there (Dawn) I told her about the food and asked her how she would compensate me The First Thing She said was She wasn't Giving Me No Money Back That Annoyed Me, So I asked Again Then She said she'll Give Me another plate so I came back 3 days later and Got another dish Jerk Chicken rice and peas and some chick peas didn't want cabbage again, I Took That food Home and was Disappointed Again The Chicken Taste Like it was Cooked Yesterday It wasn't Fresh Cooked the Meat Didn't Fall Off the Bone It wasn't Juicy Like Jamaikery Bakery or Limins Caribbean This Place Rise The Food is Garbage Dawn Should Be Ashamed of The Food That's Coming Out of There Because You Can't Charge for Food That's Sub-Par and Act Offended When Someone Speaks Their Mind If You Love Jamaican Food Avoid This Place!! Go Anywhere In East Orange or Orange, But Don't Go...
Read moreFirst time ordering take out from Rise Caribbean. This also the first time I had Guyanese food.
What we ordered: Three large oxtail platters with cabbage, rice and peas. One large curry chicken with cabbage, mac and cheese.
I had the oxtail platter and baby, let me tell you, the oxtails were falling off the bone. The oxtails had plenty of meat. The cabbage was tasty and crunchy which I enjoyed. The rice and peas were very delicious. Large size servings. The meal was very filling and rich.
Everything was authentic and delicious! The blend of spices didn’t disappoint. Fresh ingredients. Everyone enjoyed their platters.
Will we return: Absolutely, I would return and get the same meal over again. The food was fresh and delicious. The price point is good. Cost: $27 per platter. It’s a clean place....
Read moreI visited this restaurant on two occasion looking forward to eating some good Guyanese pastries in New Jersey as i usuallyhave to go to Brooklyn NY to get good Guyanese pastries. The blackeye cake was not ready yet, all the way bad. I would say the customer service was very good both times I visited. In addition the restaurant was very well kept and very clean even the restroom. But I am clearly gonna have to keep making Brooklyn trips to get good...
