6/16/25 I made the complaint below about this store over 2 years ago. It's a shame that the lack of cashiers is still an issue. If you have any concerns, reach out to Target Corporate 612-304-6073. I don't think store management is taking these complaints into consideration.
*I hope corporate sees this because the checkout experience in almost every Target has been HORRIBLE post pandemic!
If you are going to let go of staff members and shut down registers, improve the checkout experience, i.e., remove the unused registers and add additional self-checkout.
My first job was at Target, over 20 years ago. It was engrained into the employees mind to put customers first and get them checked out as soon as possible, be efficient (matter of fact, they recorded how long it took to checkout customers). This mindset seems to no longer be instilled in the managers and employees. What is going on? It should not take over 20 minutes in self-checkout! This isnt a big Target; customers should be in and out!
If you want your employees to be hands off with the customer during checkout, give an option to scan and check out the items via an app; this expedited check out service is implemented at the BJs in Hamilton, NJ. Go to that location for insight of their new checkout process. If the aforementioned option is too costly, PLEASE, FOR GOODNESS SAKE, either hire more cashiers or replace the out of commission registers with additional checkout machines. This will benefit both parties, the company and the customer....
   Read moreI am a regular shopper at this Target and I am mostly in an out quickly, grabbing what I need, and using the self check out. I had ordered something online this time but unfortunately, it did not fit me. I had to use the in-store returns services for the same. While I was waiting in line, there was another customer in-front of me and the person at the desk was happily chatting with the customer. (A small chat is great customer service but not needed. A greeting is more than fine.) When it was my turn, the lady(Ms G) had a poker face as if I came from a third world and did not deserve to be at target. I said good morning. She did not respond. I asked how are you? She did not respond. Maybe she couldnât hear me. I told her I needed to make a return as it did not fit me. She grabbed the items, scanned them for return and chose the return option herself where she picked âchanged mindâ when I had clearly stated I am returning because it did not fit me. I made sure I picked the correct reason the second time for the other pair. I said thank you for your help. She handed me the receipt saying âMoney refunded to your Paypal accountâ. And with that unwelcoming face, she went to the back as if I had held her for long and had annoyed her. I need the management to understand that returning unused items within 7 days of purchasing is not a crime and if you your representative can talk very nicely to a white customer, they should talk nicely to people...
   Read moreHad a horrible experience yesterday. We shopped around for 2hrs and we had bunch of items in the cart. I parked my cart on the side to look for a shirt for my kid. In a span of a minute my cart went missing. We looked around to see if someone has taken and have not found anywhere. Apparently, some dumb floor associate decided our cart as abandoned and decided to take our cart to customer care and mix up all our items. When we went to the customer care, we have found couple of toys we picked and thatâs when we realized what happened. When we reported to store manager they are not even willing to look for those items. They simply want us to go do shopping again. We could have done that but none of the items we picked up are available on the shelves. They unwillingly looked for our items and finally we are able to find all of them after so much arguing for an hour. Such a waste of time for both. It could have been easily resolved in 5mins. We understand mistakes happen. The store manager and the reps who we dealt with are pathetic and disgusting. Shame on them. Had never had such experience. Unfortunately, it negates all the good work done...
