As we were leaving this restaurant my mom said that this is the best Indian restaurant we've been to in our 25 years in New Jersey and I completely agree.

A lot of Indian restaurants have the same type of food and flavors that I don't consider to be "authentic". I'm from south India (though not Kerala) and it's incredibly refreshing to have our authentic flavors and spices represented like this. The food here feels like a warm hug from home.

Everything we ordered was brought to us piping hot and you can tell it was all made to order. The star of the night was definitely the fried pomfret. This had to be one of the best fish we've ever had flavor wise. The shrimp appetizer was also incredibly flavorful. We also got the malabar paratha which was everything I had wanted it to be. Flaky, buttery, still with a soft center. Both the chicken curry and fish curry we ordered were also great. I also wanted to say that the chicken curry had incredibly soft chicken pieces and a lot of them. I mention this because a lot of restaurants are profit oriented (and I understand why) and are heavy on the gravy with less meat, but the ratio of everything in this curry was perfect and definitely reminds you of something your mom would make.

All in all we had a great experience here and amazing food!

The one thing I will mention that we didn't know when we sat down was the water bottles that were already at the table are for pay. It's only a dollar so no big deal but just a heads up for anyone else.

Also didn't have any problem with the service at all, and all our food was brought within...

PROs - Kerala cuisine in south NJ, good food , fantastic service CONs - only open on weekends. ??

Well , there are very few Kerala restaurants in central / south NJ and hence finding this place was the best thing for us . Just 15 mins drive and fantastic location in East Windsor. Good parking facilities and there are so many other restaurants near by. We used to drive 45 mins for Kerala food and now it’s near . Great service . Always smiling and very courteous service . Ambience inside was ok , but I wish they make it better to make an essence of Kerala with some good Malayalam music and decors .

We ordered a long list of food . Of course we came here for The fish polichatu.. a special dish famous in this restaurant. It was about 28$ though… my friend loved it . Nicely done but we thought it could have more spice and masala . Kerala chicken fry was really good. . Decent quantity . Kerala parota was authentic . I hope it was hand made and not frozen. Tasted good . KOZHI / chicken curry was too good . Perfect taste and spice . Veg Kurma was good . 👍 appam / coconut milk was good too..

Mutton biryani was one of its kind .. oh my god . Really good didn’t taste like biryani but the aroma was really good .

Idiyappam was average . Because it was dense it was a rough tough to eat . Wish it was more soft .. sakkarai pongal sweet pongal was average too. Ada pradhaman was really good .

Overall it was a good experience.. wanted to give 4 stars but gave it a...

It was our honor and privilege to be a part of a dear friend's B'day Bash last Sunday at Kochi. Dining at Kochi was one of the, if not THE, most memorable experience ever.

We were totally floored by the exquisite food - and service - provided by Chef and Owner Mr. Jebu Matthew and his team. From the cool berry drink and amazing classic South Indian appetizers, to the numerous - and for us, many new - items that kept appearing in front of us almost magically during the main meal, served in the traditional South Indian style (on banana leaves), right through the delectable halwa and delicious jaggery rice payasam (desserts), we could feel the love and careful attention with which each item was prepared and pride with which each item was served. Plus, being served by Mr. Matthew himself was, in and of itself, humbling. He patiently explained the intricacies of each delicacy which helped us understand the complexity of the cuisine's varied flavors. To be actually seated (for hours) and served at the table greatly enhanced the culinary experience.

We have rarely, if ever, felt that we have consumed a feast - but now, can proudly say so - because of Mr. Matthew and our experience at Kochi. This one-of-a-kind mesmerizing event will remain etched as an indelible lifelong memory.

Thank you so very much - for making this magic happen. Wish Mr. Matthew only the very best in all his endeavors !

We were on our way from Hampton to Virginia and we badly wanted to try Kerala food as it’s really hard to find authentic Kerala cuisine near our area. That’s when we found this place through google and it was the best decision to stop by. Food items we ordered was so satisfying and on point. Their lunch closes at 3pm and our arrival was around 2.30pm(which obviously was keep delaying due to traffic) since we called them around 12pm to know if they will still seat us, they happily said yes and suggested us to let them know what we want ahead of time so by the time we reach food would be ready. They messaged us the menu and we replied them the list of items. The staffs were so nice and well trained. They called us to know the exact time of our arrival around 2.30 to start food preparation and the food was so hot and ready by the time we reached restaurant. We were so glad and happy that the staffs suggested us to pre order as the restaurant was packed when we arrived. We were able to order take out as well. A big kudos to the staff and owners they were so nice and cordial. Definitely recommend it to people who want proper authentic Kochi Kerala food. Foods we ordered : Chemmeen Ularthiyathu Kerala chicken fry Appam with Fish moilee Malabar paratha Beef Ularthiyathu To go : Chicken Biriyani Meen pollichathu Beef cutlets All items were so good that we forgot to take pictures of remaining items
