I received a $300 gift certificate to makeovers. I made an appointment for a consultation for hair extensions. She explained to me that the cost is $150.00 per hour to put them in, plus the cost of the hair which I found to be a bit over the top. The hair cost me $275 which left me with $25 credit. I did have the option the purchase my own which would have saved me money but I didn't know this at the time that I agreed to have the salon get them for me. I discussed with my stylist that for work I have to wear my hair in a ponytail so I don't want any part of the tape to show, her response was oh don't worry I know how to place them strategically so they will be hidden. So she put all the extensions in and did tell me that one of them is a little close to my hair line and may show when I pull my hair back. She then explained to me that I should buy 2 sets of extensions because if I come in and she has to remove the old extensions remove the tape wash and dry them and re-tape them it will also be part of $150 per hour! If she does them on her own time I wouldn't get charged. Really?? So now I was assuming she was going to blend the hair and that would be part of the $150 per hour. She cut my hair using some fancy technique that didn't blend my hair at all but cut minute pieces that you seriously couldn't see any hair on me or the floor and charged me $55 for it!!!! So my hair does look really nice but you not only can see one small extension you can see at least 5 so I have to strategically cover them with bobby pins. I ended up buying another set of extensions online Remi human hair they look and feel exactly the same as the ones the stylist put in and I paid $103.00 and that included 2 day delivery. Soon after I meet a patient of mine who happens to own a hair salon and they charge $150 to apply the extensions and blending is including as it should be. We are not in LA or New York and Makeovers salon is not high end at all. It's a loud salon with nothing but catty gossip. I won't be...
Read moreOk I’ve been coming here with my daughter for about 3 years to many! Today will be our last! So this is why, my daughter went in for a treatment, trim, wash and blow dry, the gentleman named James that trimmed and styled my daughters hair did not do a good job, so I called to complain. I complained about her hair was still wet and I’m sure it’s because he did not part her hair into sections witch he should of her hair is long past her chest long, he was also rough and when my daughter complained to him he just laughed and said oh I’m a little rough I know and laughs. Well that’s not funny to me and in my eyes he should not be speaking that way to a minor! Unfortunately I could not go back or stay any longer since I had other things to do so I called and the women on the phone was not helpful at all! Her words to me where well we can’t do anything about it if you don’t come back in and I told her that we couldn’t so she tells me I don’t know what you want me to do! Maybe an apology her hair didn’t get done for free and it was 2 hours of our time for what a treatment, trim and freezy hair! An apology would of been A good start! If I can give NO starts I would! Just absurd for a...
Read moreOverpriced salon for low quality job with “master hair stylist” ! I used to go to this salon and I was always happy when my colorist was Victoria, unfortunately she doesn’t work there. Last weekend I had balayage with Jill, she is a nice lady and I liked the color but after I came back home I saw it’s uneven from the front sides! My right side has less colored lines. she charged me extra because it took longer and she is master hair stylist so obviously she should charge more which was fine but I expect a quality job when a master hair stylist works on my hair and wants to charge me more. Now I have to ask someone else to correct her mistakes. On top of that I don’t know why they changed me extra 40$ for toner! If I was asking toner only to refresh my hair color that’s understandable but it doesn’t make sense to charge extra for a product that is a must in any color service. You need toner after highlights , ombré, balayage, and …It’s like they charge clients extra for color creams and depositing creams!!. “Be aware of what they charge you before you making...
