Title: Caution to Fellow Members: Safety and Concerns Not Adequately Addressed (Abingdon, Maryland Location) I am writing this review with a heavy heart and a sense of responsibility towards fellow members and particularly women who, like me, value a safe and supportive environment for their fitness journey. My recent experience at this facility has compelled me to reconsider my membership and share my story, with the hope that it will prompt future patrons to be vigilant and the management to take serious steps towards prioritizing member safety. During my time as a member, I encountered a situation that made me feel unsafe and threatened due to another member's behavior. With the expectation of receiving support and immediate action, I reported the incident to the management. Unfortunately, my concerns were met with what felt like indifference, and the actions taken did not align with the urgency and seriousness of the situation. This response, or lack thereof, led me to believe that my safety, and potentially that of others, was not a priority but rather viewed as an inconvenience. The lack of a satisfactory response has not only affected my perception of the gym's commitment to its members' well-being but has also forced me to cancel my membership. I feel it is necessary to prioritize my personal safety and peace of mind. I urge the management of this establishment to reconsider how such incidents are handled in the future. A gym should be a sanctuary for health and wellness, where every member feels safe, respected, and supported. It is crucial that all members' concerns are taken seriously, with prompt and appropriate actions taken to maintain a safe environment. To fellow members, especially women, I advise you to be aware of the environment and advocate for your safety. Your well-being should never be compromised, nor should it be considered a nuisance to those responsible for ensuring our safety. I hope this review serves as a constructive call to action for the gym's management to prioritize and address safety concerns with the gravity they deserve. May future members find a truly supportive and secure environment for their...
Read moreI belonged to planet in fitness forest hill, when I moved I also wanted to transfer my home gym to the one in Abingdon. I went into that sites location and was told I HAD to do the transfer online myself, with no other information and then the employee just left me to go into a back room. I proceeded to attempt to do a transfer online but planet fitness website does not allow/show me any other gyms than forest hill I could transfer too. I called the location in abingdon because I’m ready to cancel, I have had enough with the lack of customer support. I was told I had to drive to my home gym to cancel. (I have to do all my own transfer work online but I have to drive to my old site to cancel, sounds like lazy workers to me) I drove to forest hill and explained why I’m cancelling, they informed me this was not the first time they have had cancelation specifically because of the abingdon location, they also informed me they could do the transfer right then and there. At this point I was done and I cancelled. Props to forest hills location to be honest and upfront with me. And unfortunately planet fitness lost a member because the abingdon location isn’t willing enough to do their...
Read moreI pay a monthly and yearly fee and can't even use the tanning nedni want because management here is nonexistent. In fact since this. New one took over during the time of COVID (cant remember if it was before, during or right after) this gym has went to crap. Reorganizing perfection. Now it looks like someone's basement. And taking the paper towels put of the tanning rooms was so stupid. Now we have to unroll towels and take it in with us and if we need more it's in the hall. Thats been bothering ever since they did that. Management isn't management. In my opinion. Never in my life have I ever heard of managers taking so much time off,, or time to fix simple things. If the next time I go in and it still isnt fixed I think I will blow my top and call is bigger boss. P. S. There's always a something sitting in the main Hall waiting to be put away or stored and sits there and sits there. What kind of manager allows that? This one does. The only good thing here is the people working overnights. Atleast most of them. . They are almost too nice. I'm...
