Don't come here. Find another Home Goods in Harford County to support. I am new to the county and have visited this Home Goods quite a few times. On my last visit, one of the items I purchased $4.99 was an eating mat for my dog. I had spent close to $200 in that one purchase. The cashier did not add the item to my bag the night before and I came back the following day to make an additional purchase and follow up about the missing item. The Manager Erica who was sure to point to her name tag and repeat her name to ensure I had it correctly, refused to allow me to get a replacement as she said the item had not been stored behind the register so there was nothing she could do. I asked how did she know that one of the employees did not put the mat back out onto the floor and she shrugged her shoulders, folded up my receipt and told me to go back home and check my bags. I couldn't believe the poor customer service I was receiving from this "manager". I asked why would I be trying to get over for $4.99 when I had spent $200 in that purchase and was again in line to purchase additional items. She then said "yes, I see you spent that money with a gift card". It was the stupidest comment I've ever heard and quickly let me know I was arguing with someone that was obviously not very educated. The last I checked, you need money to purchase gift cards and those purchases still contribute to the stores sales... unless the rules of retail have changed. Erica was blatantly rude and for the sake of not ruining the reputation of this store, they ought to keep her in the back working on inventory until she learns to deal with people appropriately. I went home and gathered everything I could get my hands on that i purchased the night before and returned them. If I can find the receipt for my furniture purchases, I'll be returning those as well. I'd rather pay the toll and go back on the other end of the tunnel to another store before I support this Home Goods again, while this manager is still...
Read moreI had a very wonderful interaction with a lady Rose this morning. Usually when I come in, checkout is brief and I don’t receive the amount of positivity like I did today.
I had a hamper with a decent tea stain on it and I asked the cashier, Rose, if there was any chance Homegoods would discount it for me as I still really wanted this hamper. She didn’t make any hesitation to immediately agree and called for a manager Sam to help discount it.
She then was greeted by a slightly snarked woman named Pam? Who instructed Miss on Rose to CALL HER NEXT TIME because SHE IS THE MANAGER. I see why she called specifically for the guy Sam.
Miss Rose did not even bat an eye to this woman’s remark and continued to keep such positive energy and talk to me as if her manager wasn’t just quite literally telling her who’s boss. I would come back just to see Miss Rose time and time again.
Thank you Rose for your help!!! Your name fits...
Read moreThis is, by far, my favorite place to shop for home goods. However, my most recent visit had me wondering if Home Goods is going downhill or if they are among the many retail businesses negatively affected by the Covid lockdown as I noticed they didn't have nearly as much merchandise as in previous years.
Typically, I would limit my trips to Home Goods to two per year because I wouldn't walk out without spending at least $150. However, I only spent $49 this last visit as I just didn't find as many treasures as in previous years. To me, part of the excitement of shopping at Home Goods was sorting through the abundance of merchandise in search of that special item. It would literally feel like a treasure hunt. I hope I just happened to hit them on a bad day and they're not close to shuttering...
