👎 Very unfortunate shopping experience at this location. The 3 blonde female employees scheduled in the evening on 12/29 Friday night were incredibly unhelpful, condescending in demeanor and left the impression of purposeful incompetence.
These specific employees did not seem like they actually want to help you, as the customer, your presence feels like an inconvenience to them as they pretend they’re working while all standing together in one area of the store, discussing tik toks and giggling while purposely singing silly renditions of the Christian music playing throughout the store.
As I spent an hour browsing around the store for a NYE dress, not once was I asked if I needed assistance while shopping.
I had to flag down and ask an associate to start me a fitting room while carrying multiple clothing items in my arms. She started me a fitting room by slapping my name on a white board on the fitting room door and I never saw or heard from that specific associate or any other associate again.
Not sure how retail stores like this location are still running with high price point/ over priced, low quality merchandise accompanied by poor or nonexistent customer service, while stores like Anthropologie and Free People are located just down the road and provide a more pleasant shopping experience with similar aesthetic and merchandise.
At the Mall of America location, I had a completely opposite experience. The sales associates there seemed to be friendly, overtly helpful and genuine in overall nature. Which made a big impact, as I had such a pleasant experience, I spent several hundred dollars on merchandise there!
I will never return to the 50th & France location unless it’s to...
Read moreThis store: All the employees on the store floor are very kind and helpful. Everything is very orderly with the exception of the sometimes overflowing sale racks which can get a little bit untidy. Although the sale racks are often a fun treasure hunt. I am not sure whether bathrooms are open to customers. The overall vibe is what I can best describe as trendy glam.
The clothes: Alter'd State stocks trendy clothing that seeks to appeal to a certain Instagram style gen zer. The clothes strike me as fast fashion in trying to keep up with the ever changing social media trends. However, the price point is quite steep; the dresses are typically $80 full price. The garments tend to run small and only go from XS to XL, at least in this location. They do not sell...
Read moreCall first before you go! My wife drove to the store for an online order just to find out you closed 2 hours early today. Then, you picked up the phone but said you couldn’t hand over the pre-paid online order. She wasn’t even there to browse. I get that plans change, but if you plan to close 2 hours early, please update your business hours online… claiming it’s store policy to keep the door locked after closing 2 hours early when someone drove quite a bit out of the way simply to pick up an online order, then be turned away is wrong. I’m happy to delete this one star review once you update your business hours online. People need to see this review and know they should call and check to see if you’ll be open before driving there. Not trying to be mean, just...
