Tano Mall — Local services in Edison

I used to live near this mall growing up. It had a lot to offer and it was all within walking distance.

JJDA is within this mall, and the owner went out of her way to make my sister and her bestie Olivia Windos feel right at home. Granted I never met JJ in person, but she sounds like a good person.

I know this mall previously had A&P, which was okay in a pinch, but it was dated and rundown compared to Stop & Shop and Wegmans. My mom was among one of the last people to be at that store before it closed down in 2015.

I know the ice cream parlor Carvel because Janet Robinson used to work there when she was in high school (I knew Janet growing up because she and I lived in Metuchen and went to the same school, plus she and I were the same age). The Spanish restaurant in this strip-mall was amazing. I'm a Yankee but was in Florida visiting my sister's family. We went on a Sunday (church rush) and there was a slight wait. The wait was so worth it. The food was delicious, priced well, and the service felt very home style. My young child ate fish with no complaints (we told him it was chicken)! The service was amazing. The food was probably the best fried seafood I've ever had. It can get crowded, specifically the Sunday church crowd, but they're fast with bussing tables and getting your meal out quickly. They also had no complaints about breaking up the check for our large group. So yummy. That's my first stop when I visit...

Tano Mall is a open area Mall. U would need to park and shop. My favorite, It has Carvel! You can not go wrong with Carvel ice cream. The young staff is good at what they do. Make sure you leave them a little tip! They are open until 10pm for that late night craving. There is also an Asian market for all the cuisines of Asia you like to eat and cook. You grab a pizza or sushi next door if you are in the mood. The Dollar store is huge! They took over the old rite aide store. Lots of good stuff. You just gotta know what you are looking for!
