Little neglected and in obvious need for restoration this sculpture/fountain sits at the end of a beautiful large green lawn. The sculpture itself was, once, a stunning piece of art, but unfortunately has declining in its beauty. I wish I was able to see all the vibrant colors and shapes as artist sculpt them and imagined them. The fountain was not working as well. It would be nice to see the reflection of the sculpture and the sky above in the water. I imagine it would be stunning. Nevertheless, the sculpture and the walk to this park were definitely worth it. I can see myself having a little picnic on the lawn or just enjoying a good book. The only annoying thing was the sound of the traffic, but it’s to be expected since the roads...
Read moreA beautiful statue that was built in 1938 by Waylanda Gregory. It represents a fountain dispelling The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse plus an additional 2 representing greed and materialism.
This statue was restored once, but looks like it could use restoring again some of the pieces of concrete are breaking off.
When I went in September of 2023, the water part was not turned on. I do not know if they turned it off or if it is not working.

Read moreThis is an interesting sculpture/relief/fountain. I appreciate the "light" in the center but the 6 horsemen of the apocalypse fleeing it are just grotesque and frightening to children. It is important to remember when this was created - the great depression. We may be back there all too soon and with a few of the horsemen running rampant this can serve as a reminder that the light of reason and knowledge can dispell any darkness......
