Hate to say it, but the grooming was pretty awful. The girl used gigantic scissors to trim a 10-pound dogs face. I kid you not.. the scissors had to be 12" or more... for face trimming. She tried to make it right, but once he had chunks missing from his chin hairs, around his nose and eyes... that just can't be fixed. It's my guess, but this grooming was from a very inexperienced person. I'm going to have to let it grow out a couple of weeks and then go to a groomer who knows how to groom. The girl was sweet enough and tried, but I didn't pay for a groomer to learn on my sweet pup. This first photo is what our pup looked like after 4 Muddy Paws. The 2nd photo is what he liked, like after his prior grooming at a different groomer. (btw his previous groomer was booked up for weeks, so we needed to find someone else...our bad going up 4 Mudddy Paws). You can bet this review will be read by many others. My husband told this groomer that I walk our dog a lot, so with summer temps coming, we needed his body fur cut short but not shaved. She totally didn't touch his hind legs... that fur was 2" long. When I picked our sweet boy up, I was totally shocked at the way he looked. After speaking to a manger ( I don't know her name because she didn't care to tell me who she was. The lady with short blonde hair tried to be helpful, but the lack of ability by the groomer couldn't be fixed, even after a 2nd attempt which took another 45 minutes after I arrived to take him home. No matter how much I could direct the groomer, she just couldn't do the job. So, the businesses reply to my review and want to make it seem like the customer was at fault, which is ridiculous and unprofessional. The only thing we are happy about with this service is.... well, let me put it this way... the $5 gift card I was given to smooth it over went straight into the trash. There is nothing that will get us back in there. Had the replier to my original review tried to make this right, we may have felt different. As a business owner in the same community, I would have addressed the issue and made it right and not tried to pass it onto the customer. I was warned about your business practices,...
Read moreThey have always been very helpful. My first trip to the Edwardsville store was when my now almost three year old mutt started with horrendous diarrhea and vomiting.. after several trips to the vet, I finally decided it must have been his food. I spoke to the workers, and we actually dissected the food he was on at the time, ingredient by ingredient.. and eventually came up with a food that solved ALLLLLL his issues as soon as we changed it over. I have been going back for his food, and other things ever since. Especially when he started with environmental allergy issues, they had so many suggestions.. and I tried them all. Unfortunately, his allergies are too out of control and he is currently on several medications through his vet.
I rescued a female toothless kitty las summer, who was just barely 3lbs and was about 6-8 years old. The workers helped me find a food that would work best for her, and help her quickly gain weight and help her become healthy again.
They are always willing to hand you free samples to try.. which was so helpful especially when starting my dog on his food which was new to him years ago.. and for the stay kitty when we started her on a raw diet.
I absolutely love this place! They have wonderful and extremely helpful employees and I have never felt "looked down upon".. Especially because I occasionally come in with some really stupid questions. It's nice to find a business so helpful and not readily shoving their products in your hands...
Read moreI really do enjoy this spot and appreciate the unique offerings they carry, especially supporting local brands like Treats Unleashed. However, I had a disappointing customer service experience recently. We picked up a bag of treats that had a clear price tag, but at checkout, it rang up higher.
As a small business owner myself, I know mistakes happen—but I also know that my mistakes should not fall onto the customer. Instead of adjusting the price or acknowledging the mix-up, we were simply asked if we still wanted the item, that’s not the price. They did begin pulling the rest of the bags off the shelf, realizing they had either mispriced them or failed to remove the original tags before stocking.
We still made the purchase—it wasn’t about the money—but it was disappointing from a customer service standpoint. If they’re unwilling to acknowledge and fix a small mistake, it does raise concerns about how other issues might be handled. Going forward, I’ll just make the trip to Treats Unleashed directly since my pup loves their products.
I still like the brand and their selection, but I’ll be sticking to small purchases moving forward. Of course I’ll be happy to update if I notice improvements but just a disappointing...
