We have been searching for a go to meat market for a couple years since ours closed. We have found it in Bagleys. It is clean, organized, offers a wide variety, excellent service, reasonably priced and most importantly high quality. When you walk in Bagleys it is very roomy. The presentation, cleanliness, and organization gives a good initial experience. Each counter has helpful, kind clerks who don’t hurry you along and can answer all your questions. There were choices of about six different chicken breast and the clerk helped me narrow it to the bourbon marinade chicken I have pictured. It was delicious and one of the first times I gladly dug into chicken. We eat it for heart health reasons and this chicken broke up the long chicken experience. It was great. Then we asked about roast and she gave us details about each including best cooking methods. Then we selected some beautiful pork steaks. $3.99 a lb in September 2023. We were able to choose between thick and then. We bought eight total and the clerk patiently wrapped them in packages of two. Finally we selected hamburger. There was the general 80/20 ground beef or 90/10 ground round, ground sirloin or ground steak. So many choices. We went for ground round which was the same price as regular ground beef at a meat market we had just left without purchasing anything. The breast were large enough that one was sufficient to feed the two of us at a meal. All the meat was fresh looking. All was carefully wrapped, taped and labeled in brown butcher paper which I used to freeze the meat at home. We also bought their weekly special two NY strips for about $6.50 each. We were there on senior 10% discount day and the total was about $80. About 12 meals and a roast for when the adult families came to eat. Read moreI've been shopping at Bagley Farms Meat Market since they opened their original location. I have always been satisfied with the quality, but the service and selection has gotten better over the years. The team working at the meat case is always friendly and helpful. When I needed a special cut for a new recipe, they had no problem making it happen. The ground beef is so much better than what you can find in a store, and the steaks are outstanding. We're lucky to have Bagley Farms on this side of town, as there are virtually no other close options for fresh food. I highly recommend Bagley Farms...
Read moreBought a beef short rib for $75.00. Thawed it out and smoked at 250 degrees for 11 hours. Turned out it was boneless (no indication on the package, and couldn't tell in frozen state ). Also virtually meatless. It was mostly fat, so disappointing, maybe got a pound of edible meat from it. I'm thinking maybe it was the piece of meat they usually throw away after cutting ribeyes. It certainly wasn't worth $75.00 and you can't really return it...
