I ordered the eggplant parmesan, something I've ordered from many other pasta focused restaurants/Italian food joints. I paid $18, and received three slices of eggplant that were not breaded, but fried, and covered in cheese and pasta sauce. The slices were greasy, flavorless, and small. Every other place that I've ever ordered this same dish from gives you an entire eggplant, sliced horizontalally. Eggplants are not expensive. The lack of quality in the slices (the skin was tough and plagued with age spots), the lack of flavor, and the insultingly low quantity of the eggplant I was given made for one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had to sit through in a very long time. My waitress was nice, but when I was indifferent to which side I should have with the entrée, she listed sides that were available, and I asked which she would pick, and said something along the lines of "I'm not sure", which is fine, she was still nice, so I randomly chose broccoli, taking a shot in the dark. It was previously frozen, steamed broccoli. Not even fully cooked broccoli, it was bland and hard to chew.
Overall, nice enough staff, but tiny, crummy portions and bland, lackluster food with exorbitant asking prices and weird, dark and intimate lighting in the dining room made for a crummy experience. Take some time and go over the river to "The Hill" for some better food, Maybe even try Fazoli's...
Read moreI wanted to give 0 stars, but it wouldn't let me post this review without 1. I came in on my lunch break today to get a simple order of garlic bread to go but I wasn't even able to get that. There were about 6 people in the whole restaurant but I stood by the counter to place my order for around 5 minutes while the workers that couldn't be bothered just stared at me. Finally the manager comes up and I tell him I have been waiting here for 5 minutes and asked how long it would take for the order since I am now on even more limited time. Again, there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Instead of apologizing, he says you haven't been waiting long and do you want the garlic bread or not. I told him he was rude and never mind the order. Of course he acted like he did nothing wrong and I was the issue, even saying "WOAH" in front of the other customers, like I was acting erratic (which I was not). I left with no food and a ruined lunch break. Whoever that manager is, he is a big reason that this location has gone downhill. The workers are no better, I guess. They couldn't even be bothered to stop chit chatting to help take a...
Read moreI had the pizza with sausage. The crust was terrible, not fresh, it was like cardboard pre-made. The sauce was good just not enough. The sausage was good, not enough, they put one piece of sausage on almost each square of the pizza. When you bit into of the pizza it reminds me of something that was just awful. For a high end restaurant charging high prices for dinner, I would have thought that they would have used fresh dough, and scatter the meat around not put it one piece here and there, also the crust was not cut through so you couldn't even pull the slice apart, or use your knife to cut through the crust. Never again order that garbage pizza!!! I would go across the street and go to Imo's, the Pasta House could take lessons from Imo's, and just about any other pizza restaurant in Edwardsville, I've had a lot of pizza in different places and anyone of them could put the Pasta House to shame, not to mention the price!!! I've had better...
