Right out of the box my eyes popped! I bought the Record Vinyl Storage Shelf, 30”, in golden oak, with stock 6” hair pin legs. Wow! Extremely well crafted. Seamless joints, gorgeous tone of stain, and beautiful pieces of solid wood. It’s not only a functional ensemble piece to my audio gear, it’s a drop dead gorgeous piece of work. It fits with the decor of my house that features antiques. Very sturdy as well. The legs were milled with care and came with plastic feet. On the underside there were stencil marks that lined up with the placement of the feet. Holes were pre-drilled and not just partially: the drill hole went the entire length of the screw. All you need is a medium sized phillips head screw driver, snug them nice and tight and you’re good to go. I added some felt under the feet for an easy glide on my wood floor for placement. I commissioned Ocean Beach Pallet Company a few years ago to build an audio cabinet to house my turntable, receiver, reel to reel tape deck. Since they were kinda local (I live in Los Angeles and they were based in San Diego) and the prices for their units ( hand crafted to buyer specications) I was attracted to their business. The cabinet came out perfect. Well built, sturdy, great looking. I was able to also choose the wood and finish. After that I realized that I had added a second reel to reel and needed space to include sheving for reels and LP's. So I recommissioned them to build with the same wood an extra shelf to be able to raise my receiver to the top shelf (easier to rewire and do maintenance work ). The receiver is quit heavy and cumbersome so moving it to the top shelf and placing my turtable on top was a logical next step. This place was highly recommended on Reddit, so I checked it out and thought it was pretty cool what they do and how customizable the pieces are. You can customize everything to the style, length, color, legs, and special top patterns which look amazing in person. I took months to think about exactly what would fit best in the space and deciding if I should spend the money or look for something cheap. Very satisfied with the finished product delivered right to my door. This thing is stupid sturdy and looks beautiful in person. I don't have to worry about putting too many records or this thing breaking apart when I eventually have to move. I had my record player on a folding tray table for months until I decided to purchase and it just really finished off my living room. The stand was packaged very very well with a lot of protection.
