This BEAUTIFUL place has A LOT of potentials! BUT they need a NEW administration. We went for Sunday brunch, and the restaurant looked to be ready for everything but guests! After we sat, no one came to greet us, offer us a drink, or anything! After a while, we were handed the menu and told that if we wanted something quick there was the buffet... to go and serve ourselves... the guy (owner or manager, not sure who is he) was a little rude or at least does not has any hospitality background.
Long story short, we ordered our brunch (nothing too elaborated), and it took almost an hour to be served. Two of our plates were the traditional breakfast from the menu (toast, eggs, and bacon) We ordered from the menu because we did not want the bacon and stiff bread from the buffet... well, just the egg (one egg) came from the kitchen and after a couple of minutes our server brought us the toast (1) and the bacon from the buffet... really?! why we ordered from the menu, it took 1-hour to arrive and the food was all the time in front of us!!!
During our time there we saw a lot of whispering between the owner/manager and his employees... all the time it looked like they were trying to put fires down... several tables waiting for a long time for their food... people walking to the bar to grab their drink themselves... oh and because this is a venue that host private events, the restrooms and the ballroom were a mess...
We are not picky customers, but when you don't have the communication from the manager or server about the service or your food situation, that is very disappointing.
A little hospitality/customer service training for staff and managers won't hurt! Speed up kitchen process and the cleanness and organization from the previous event... or just...
Read moreWe came here for a magical evening for my mother’s 80th birthday, and The Bay Patio was amazing. I had the hamburger. It was one of the better burgers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’m from the outstanding restaurant city of Philadelphia, so that’s saying something. Other dishes in our party were the spaghetti and garlic bread, also very good. I also had a very tasty and pretty pineapple mojito.
The Bay Patio only exists as a restaurant open to the general public when The Water’s Edge, where it’s located, isn’t hosting a wedding.
One other thing to note: the fire pits are near the bar. There’s a large fire pit on the stairs into the dining area, but it’s a bit too far from all but a couple tables to provide much warmth to...
Read moreWe went here for the Valentine’s Day “experience” and boy was it an experience! We came in to rushed wait staff, arguments between the staff, and angry customers walking around the waiting area trying to find a manager to talk to. Pretty cheap set up for something we had to pay up front so we were totally misled by the pictures. We tried to get out of the reservation before we sat down after watching the circus of chaos for 30 minutes but were basically begged to stay because they weren’t sure if they could even refund us. The food was cold and tasted like it had been out for a while. You could tell everything was frozen before it had been cooked (I got the steak and it was gray and the size of a mozzarella stick from sonic). We also were sat directly next to the entrance so we had a front row seat to the continued chaos and watched the hostesses yell at each other in confusion for the entire meal. It was so disorganized it was almost funny and we ended the night in a Burger King...
