Valley Supermarket — Local services in El Paso

This place has an #outstanding little restaurant inside, but the market leaves something to be desired. If the grocery area was better I would have given it 4 or even 5 stars, but as I said the grocery area leaves something to be desired. However, just for the restaurant area it definitely deserves a 3 star rating. What really makes this place is the food and cleanliness of the restaurant dining area. I have ordered several different food items at different times. Both to take home and dine-in. What I have ordered is the Caldo de Pollo (Mexican Chicken Soup), Spanish rice & refried beans to take home for other dinners, and several of the different burritos that they offer. Including Barbacoa (BBQ beef cheek meat), Chili Rojo (Red Chili with pork stew meat & potatoes), Chicharones (fried and sauteed pig skins in chili; usually with meat & fat attached), and frijoles refritos con queso (refried bean & cheese). All of which are absolutely delicious and, of course, what my family was raised on. Although to be honest I probably shouldn't be eating these things since I'm diabetic, but it's usually my cheat days I do this....

Warning! NO STARS! NEGATIVE STARS! I work close to this location and I stopped by for lunch today. I ordered a chile relleno burrito. It was ok the first couple bites, but towards the end it was rancid. Like half the relleno sat out uncovered for days. I almost vomited. It was so awful, I saved the receipt and the leftover half of the burrito for evidence just in case I die tonight. It was so awful, I could not get the taste out of my mouth and it left a slimy film inside my mouth!!! It was so awful, I just googled salmonella and botulism poisoning. Kids eat here, viejitos who are immunocompromised eat here! This place is going to kill someone! Why hasn’t the health department shut them down yet?!! NASTY!!! seems like their food where the guacamoles, beans, rice, Chile , Chile relleno and all those precooked food they have are a lot of them spoil. Like they leave their food sitting there for a long time or they don’t put the selling or due date. I’ve bought the cooked beans about 5 times and 2 out of those times the beans tasted nasty like they were spoiled, also the Chile Colorado from there was gross, my husband tasted it and he said it tasted like it was left there for days. It should have been thrown out instead of them selling it to the public. Never buying those...
