Poor customer service! On Sunday February 23rd, our sister-in-law but a children's recliner chair for our four-year-old son. She gave us the gift receipt just in case there was any issues. We discovered that the reclining support arms scrape the floor when opening and closing. Upon further inspection, we realized that a piece of the frame under the chair was broken. We brought the chair back to this HomeGoods, so that we could exchange it for one that was not broken. We then discovered that a good chair has feet on it, which prevents the support arms from scraping the floor. We were told by the store manager, that they do not accept broken furniture. I explained that the chair was just bought on Sunday, here we are three days later and all we would like to do is exchange it for one that is not broken. She proceeded to inform us that it is their policy that they do not take back broken furniture. I said did I do not understand why you are okay with selling us broken Furniture but not okay with standing behind it and taking it back. I also said that we are not trying to return the chair for our money, we would like to exchange it for one that is not broken. She stuck to her ground and explain that it is their policy that they do not take back broken Furniture, even though they sold it to us broken. Because of HomeGoods poor customer service return policy, we ended up returning the chair at another location, and not getting anything at all. Until HomeGoods changes their customer service return policy, we will not be able to shop there out of a lack of confidence on their part. Good luck to HomeGoods, poor customer service will not gain you any new customers. We will also be informing all of our sons Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and grandparents that we do not want anything from HomeGoods, as they do not stand behind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't believe they're allowed to sell products in the condition they do with the awful customer service they have. I have been in countless homegoods over the years and never seen a store full of broken merchandise i thought it was an outlet or something. I bought a table with a crack in it and tried to bring it to the attention of the manager after seeing a large selection of ruined products all over the store not marked down as they should be in the damaged "clearance" section. the employee refuses to get me the manager so I blatantly ask "your manager will not come out and speak to me?" I explained how rude this was she shrugged and she said maybe you'll get a discount on the table at the front and walked away. The manager finally walks over touches the large crack in the table says "oh" and walks away no eye contact. I don't care about the discount I was willing to pay full price I just needed some ASSISTANCE. I pull the table to the counter and see the same table absolutely shattered on the floor behind the check out stand, I.e a crack in the marble will lead to it just breaking and they want to give me 10% off and have me drag it around the store myself. I am trying to leave and the manager starts arguing with the customer next to me so I try to step in for the customer who is shocked at the way the manager is speaking to her, thanks me for helping her after being yelled at over needing an extra shopping bag for her purchase and the manager telling her they DONT HAVE ANY!! Do not go in this store you will end up with broken furniture and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the worst experience ever at this HomeGoods. I went to register one, and usually, associates have name tags, but this rude woman did not. I said hi, and she was already guarded and rude. The moment I mentioned I had a return, you could see in her face that she was upset. I had bought some decor items two days ago and was returning what didn't match my home.
I gave her the receipts, but she claimed they weren't for some of the items. I told her to just return what she could, and I'd come back with the correct receipts later. Her attitude was horrible, as if she didn't like her job at all. I checked the receipts and saw that they matched the items exactly. When I pointed this out, she became furious, looking at me like I had committed a crime. She didnāt know how to do her job and blamed me for it.
Thankfully, her manager, Diana, came over, checked the receipts, and confirmed they were correct. The rude associate then started telling me not to talk to her like that and refused to help me. She threw the receipts on the counter and stormed off. It was the rudest encounter I have ever experienced.
Diana was very nice and handled the situation with care and patience, which helped me calm down. However, she wouldnāt give me the associate's name, which I respected as she was protecting her employee despite her rudeness. Nevertheless, the behavior of that worker was unacceptable.
This was my last visit to the HomeGoods on Sepulveda. Done...
