There's a new cool place in town that brings a loud and rowdy fun place for families and large groups to come together . Reservations are highly recommended because after all its a new place. It's popular, it's differnt for us southbay locals, and has a bit to offer. Axe throwing does require a separate reservation from dining so please keep that in mind when booking.
Reservations are highly encouraged because let's face it this is new for us. We easily made reservations online to be seated indoors and stated I am disabled and would need special table accommodations. I was pleasantly surprised that once we checked in and were being taken to our table we were seated at a table that was wheelchair accessible and already had a chair removed to accommodate us. Talk about VIP service. I will be honest I'm very happy to have booked for indoor seating because I was away from all the un supervised children running around outside playing on a playground looking setting with adult games outdoors. Cornhole , giant chess, connect four, and giant Jenga were available to play if it wasn't already dominated by kids. I honestly give it a few weeks before something gets broken but would truly be a great option for adult diners outdoors. Bocce ball play areas greeted you at the front of the restaurant. One could almost forget we were here for bbq with all the entertainment it offered.
Service was extremely fast on the day I visited which was on a Wednesday night. I was still surprised they were so busy . When we were seated our server greeted us and asked if we had any questions. He was very thorough and even offer personalized suggestions on drinks. I opted for their hurricane and my partner chose the peach tea. Both were very delicious and would make a perfect pairing with food.
Prior to visiting this location I had only been to the one in orange county once but did recall the portion sizes being enough to feed a group of five persons. For our meals I chose the 6 piece wings and added my favorite habanero bbq sauce on top. My mom opted for chili however nowhere on the menu did it state it was spicy so she was not able to eat her meal and was offered a change. She ended up with the half chicken mac n cheese and sweet potato concoction. My partner chose brisket.
I'll start with the wings. I upgraded to all flats for $1extra. The texture and flavor of the wings coated in dry rub were phenomenal. I'm an extremely picky eater and the meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone. Adding my own sauce preference while eating did not take away from any flavor. It was perfect and crispy.
My moms first option was the bowl of brisket chili. It was very delicious and full of flavor and generous portions of meat. The only downfall was she doesn't eat spicy food. It started to get spicier the more she tried to eat. I tried a bit and from a person who eats Caroline Reapers like candy I'll admit I thought it tasted like it was made witj the habenero bbq sauce. If you lobe spicy this is perfect but for other who don't I wish it was stated chili is hot. They changed her item instantly with no hesitation or questions. Her half chicken was a generous portion size. Very tender and flavorful. Mac n cheese was perfect and even had a hint of sweetness. The sweet potato side tasted like a cold dessert.
My partners brisket plate was phenomenal. I never got to sample but he raved about the flavor being smoked to perfection.
Overall our experience was amazing. We signed up for the rewards program before paying because we know we will be returning. Although pricey I feel it was worth...
Read moreIt’s so disheartening that we have to share this. But, their service blows. A big time. We’re locals and have been this place a couple of times before (both lunch&dinner, week days and weekends.) and can attest tonight was the worst service we ever received from this place.
1.we came and sat at the bar area. Ordered drink & food at the same time. (Ordered Saturday special drink; beer+shot @2 and the dinosaur beef rib w/2 sides. We asked if this was available and the server said yes.) Got the drink. The food never came. Waited for a LOOOOOONG time (at least 45mins or longer before asking for the status of our food. We tried to be understanding of the workers , but No one came to check on us and I was getting really hungry.) Couldn’t find the server we placed the order with. So asked another server if he could see what’s the status on it. He went to his coworker. We saw both of them making faces and going to the back. The server we asked to check the status of our order comes back and says his coworker is checking in. Shift manager comes out and basically tells us that nothing was placed in the order. So at this point, we wasted time for nothing. We say “oh. So now what.” The shift manager place the order for our food. Another 30 minutes wait. At this point, we also wanted to get 2nd round of drink so we asked the shift manager to add that. Only to find out at this point that our 1st round wasn’t even on our tab. (We could’ve gotten accidental free drinks!lol) Food finally comes to our table. At this point it’s been almost 2hours since we’ve been this place. It’s nothing but cold disappointing rib meat. So chewy.
All in all. We’re not coming back. At least for a long while. I mean who would want to after having an experience like this. We definitely are not gonna come with friends and families or recommend anyone to here. No one needs to go through this type...
Read moreWe are always in this area and saw when they 1st started construction and finally made our way over. The place looks absolutely amazing. There are nice TVs everywhere, there's a nice big open concept, they have the axe throwing section, and there is an outdoor area with a bunch of giant games and seating. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their but the Hand Grenades (fried jalapeno poppers stuffed with brisket) could use some more flavor. The drinks were also ok, nothing to really rave about. They have a really big menu with lots of great options to choose from. I'm going to continue to visit so I can keep trying new things on the menu. The only thing that disappointed me was the axe throwing portion. It was really cool that you can change the appearance of the targets but the horrible part was how beat up the axes were. I've been to a couple of axe throwing facilities and never seen the axes so chipped, beat up, and completely dull. This definitely played a role in how well the axe stuck in the wood. I've never had issues in the past and I would only get 3 out of every 10 throws to stick. They tried to tell me I wasn't taking a big enough step before I threw but I don't think that should determine if the axe sticks or not but I'm no expert. The other axe facilities also have a more attentive instructor that continues to give input and even comes up with games and tournaments for your group, not so much here. It's more of a free for all throw, which isn't too bad, it just depends on what you're looking for. The bartender/waitress named Marie was amazing. Very friendly, approachable and was pretty much running the show all by herself. They would have not been functioning if it wasn't for...
