This was one of the more horrifying experiences I've ever had in a store. A colleague and I were in town on business and wanted to pick up a bottle or two of California wine before heading back home on the redeye flight back east from LAX. My colleague was carrying his laptop bag because he didn't want to keep it in the car and the heavy set store clerk walked over to my colleague claiming that he received a call saying that my colleague was looking suspicious. At that point I realized that the owner was probably remotely watching us on his cameras. When I got to the register, I asked the clerk what exactly happened and the clerk responded in a very acusitory manner claiming that my 'friend was acting weird'. I said, "Excuse me?", then he repeated himself. I told him that he totally had the wrong idea and to that, he started getting extremely aggressive and pointed. At that point, I asked him to cancel the sale and that I didn't want to purchase the wine and he told me to "Get out of the store!" I have never felt so unsettled in a situation like that in a long time. I couldn't believe it!
