11/18/2023 UPDATE 2: My review appears to have helped bring workers to the registers. I will not be changing my star rating however until I have verified that workers are staying on registers, and this isn't just for publicity.
10/26/2023 UPDATE: I never thought I would be reversing a 5-star review of a grocery store to a 1-star, so I need to explain. This store has gone from being full service, to "exclusively self-checkout". You read that right, EXCLUSIVELY self-checkout. No human beings at a counter except one floating island service desk. That's it.
If you are going from full service with cashier, and bagging, to absolutely nothing other than "do it myself", the least you can do is offer a discount on prices, since you're not paying the staff to do it otherwise. That's not normal behavior and should not be normalized in any way.
The quality of the meats as well has gone done quite considerably. At this point I break up my grocery store purchases between Aldi's and Publix on 19, because this store is just so otherwise useless now. I seriously don't think they understand that going fully self-checkout was such a horrible idea.
Couldn't have been a worse area to do it too, where most of the customers are elderly and DO NOT UNDERSTAND how to use the registers. I seriously feel bad for the customers who struggle with them, and now point them at least to the WinnDixie on 54, as it is still full service.
So with that, I don't recommend giving this location any more money. It's gone quite downhill in the span of...
Read moreI live up near S.R. 52, but when I'm ready for a W/D run, I'll drive down to Holiday to shop at THIS store. The store is very clean and well stocked, the employees are friendly and helpful, and they have the nicest, FRESHEST produce section I've seen at ANY Winn Dixie - it's obvious that their management team truly cares about their customer's experiences as-well-as the products they sell.
Since Winn Dixie is known as "The Meat People", you'd think every W/D would have fantastic meat, but in my experience, most of them rely more on their reputation than on the quality of their food; that's not true for THIS store, though. In this store, I've never had a bad experience with the meat sold. It's always fresh; there's no bad odor or discolored meats when you're walking in that area of the store. I've never opened the package to funky smells or slimy meat, unlike many other stores! Employees are constantly bringing out fresh food and checking dates to ensure that whatever they sell is fresh and ready to use. As an added bonus, they have fantastic sales! For those of us on budgets, you can get huge ribeye or T-bone steaks for a lot less than anywhere else, many times for a little as $5.99 a pound!
If you're looking for a great shopping experience with fast, friendly, and professional employees, and fresh meat, seafood, and produce, I highly recommend this store above ANY other Winn Dixie; you really won't be...
Read moreI just went into this particular winn dixie just to see if they had a product called nutritional yeast. So I parked my bike just inside the door and locked it down. I was in there for less than ten minutes when the Karen behind the customer service desk said. Um maam you can't park your bike there. I politely asked her are you a manager? She said no so I told her seem how you are not a manager please do not what I can or can't do, she then called the manager and I asked him if he was a manager and he said yes. I informed him that I was working on leaving until she started running her mouth! He mentioned that that there was a bike rack next to the propane cage. I said you actually think I am going to put my $1500.00 bike next to a propane take. I said absolutely not! And you wonder why you have no business in this location? Your staff is rude and disrespectful. All she had to do is kindly say is could you please take your bike outside we have no room inside for it. I would have gladly said yes no questions asked. But the funny thing is there was no one at the customer service desk when I walked in. So instead of being a Karen maybe she she get more training on how to actually talk to your customers. Oh and there is no signage on those doors stating not to bring your...
