I really hate to abuse a place (see my other reviews). But in all honesty I was not happy.
1st. The place looks like it's going to be delicious from the outside, smoker going wild, roadside on Hwy 19, you can see the smoke a half mile off and smell it a mile off, and it smells amazing! Perhaps this fairly negative review is more a reflection in my disappointment.
But upon arrival things went south. Maybe I should have gotten the ribs but: Me:" Ill have a brisket sandwich and a Miller lite". Her: "We don't got alcohol." (Disappointing but hardly a reflection on food)
Me: "OK, I'll take the sandwich and a glass of ice water" Her: "We don't have glasses, you can buy a bottle of water" (Severly disappointing, this isn't a liquor license issue, this is laziness, cheapness, or something else that is not a desirable attribute).
I get the sandwich quickly enough. It's a thin and fairly dry single piece of brisket between a generic roll, not the piled high caramel charred mountain of meat, I'd envisioned, it's rations.
However the corker, the reason had to write this review, was the heated argument the above said counter girl got into with another staff member. Apparently one of the cooking staff in back. Her yelling at him to just get out, he don't work, just go home, etc. This all happened in front of the few customers in the place. All I wanted to do was finish my lousy sandwich and get out. I really can't see a reason to return.
Prices are: I honestly don't remember, but too much for...
Read moreI came in and the man behind the counter was quiet but nice he didn’t really say much as he was preoccupied with his phone but he was polite when taking my order. I ordered a 4 meat combo (no sides) in this combo…I ordered brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork with a small side of collards greens, and medium Mac and cheese. The burnt ends were good, the mac and cheese was okay and the collard greens were also just okay. Price came out to 40.66 which I guess isn’t horrible for bbq buts it’s not a great price when you go in and basically have to figure the menu out by yourself. Now I know what you are thinking “oh my gosh you had to figure it out all on your own..oh no!!” A combo normally comes with a side and normally when you walk in a restaurant they engage with you to find out what the best option for you is off their menu. The brisket was shredded (not a single employee advised I needed to ask to have it sliced?) and I was only told after I returned home and called because I thought I got the wrong meat. Now this may seem petty but when I walk out of a business paying double what you would any other fast food restaurant I expect good service and great food this was just alright and so was the service…tried it once, don’t need to...
