Worst Experience Ever – Avoid Bob’s Discount Furniture
I don’t typically write reviews like this, but our experience with Bob’s Discount Furniture has been so frustrating and disappointing that I feel compelled to share it.
About a year ago, we purchased the Dream Modular Couch because it closely resembled the Cloud Couch from RH. Initially, we were excited. But within a few months, feathers began poking through the fabric, stabbing us during use. When we unzipped the cushion covers, feathers would explode everywhere. We contacted Bob’s, and they replaced the cushions. Unfortunately, the issue recurred. After reaching out again, they replaced the entire couch.
We hoped that would solve the problem, but it didn’t. The same issues came back after just a few months. Bob’s issued us store credit, which we used to purchase a different modular couch. That lasted only 8 months before the upholstery started tearing and the built-in wireless charging station began popping out of place. Again, a technician came out, confirmed the damage couldn’t be fixed, and we were issued store credit for a second time.
We then chose the Arctic Left Arm Facing Chaise, along with a writing desk and an area rug. The plan was to have the old modular couch picked up and the new items delivered at the same time. We also happened to be moving—just next door to a new apartment in the same complex. One of the delivery drivers became upset about the new delivery address, even though it was literally next door. Customer service assured us this wouldn’t be an issue, but the driver still called his manager and claimed we needed to pay an additional delivery fee. Eventually, the items were delivered.
That’s when things got worse. The couch was the wrong sectional. The writing desk was damaged. After the delivery driver initially argued about the address, he ended up apologizing once he realized how badly the order had been mishandled.
We contacted Bob’s again and demanded a full refund. The refund was initiated on May 31st, and the incorrect furniture was picked up on June 5th. We were told the refund (nearly $3,000) would be processed within 5–7 business days. However, as of June 17th, we still have not received it. Just yesterday, on June 16th, the billing department informed us there was a block on our account that prevented the refund from being issued—and now we have to wait another 3–5 business days.
This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. Dealing with Bob’s Discount Furniture has been nothing but stress, miscommunication, and incompetence. Every department seems to blame the others instead of solving problems. No one takes ownership, and customers are left to deal with the consequences.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service and products received from Bob's Furniture. Approximately over a year ago, we purchased a "Dream Couch" from your store. We experienced a recurring issue with the feathers protruding from the couch cushions, leading us to request a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement suffered from the same defect. Consequently, we opted for a reselection, choosing a durable model comparable in value to the initial purchase, as suggested by your staff.
However, within six months of receiving this new couch, the material began to tear, and the center piece housing the charging ports detached and ceased functioning. Following this, we were offered another reselection. Subsequently, we ordered additional items, including a desk and a rug, in conjunction with another couch. The delivery team, however, presented a completely incorrect couch in terms of color and style, entirely different from our order.
We had the delivery items returned on May 29th, yet as of today, June 16th, we have not received the refund due to us, totaling several thousand dollars. Additionally, I have encountered unprofessional conduct from some of your staff during our communications regarding this matter.

Read moreI would highly discourage anyone from purchasing furniture from Bob’s. It was a terrible experience to say the least. We ordered a couch that was back ordered and we were told it would take 6-8 weeks. I was a little nervous about this because I don’t trust those kind of time windows but we were assured that the dates are accurate. Our delivery was finally scheduled only to be contacted 2 days prior to delivery to be told that they didn’t have all of the pieces and the order would be delayed. This happened probably five different times over the course of three months. Most recently, we didn’t want to schedule another delivery until they were certain all of the pieces were available. A representative told us that unequivocally all pieces were ready so we scheduled another delivery. 2 days prior to delivery we were once again told all of the pieces weren’t available. We decided to keep shopping and ended up at Beck’s furniture. We found a couch we loved and they had it in stock. The couch was delivered to our home in 5 days. We had a great experience at Beck’s and I will never go to Bob’s again. We were told by a Bob’s representative that 70% of their items are in stock. Beck’s appears to be honest when it comes to their inventory. The couch we found at Becks was also a fraction of the cost of the one at Bob’s.
