I went to camp bow wow based on reviews, I requested the information they required to place my dog there for 10 days as I was going out of town for business. I had all of her shots and confirmed she was healthy even the day before I dropped her off. The Doctor confirmed she was very healthy and she confirmed she had all of the necessary shots for flu and bordella as well as all of the other shots that were required before she was placed into their care. I was assured that she would be in good care. 4days into my trip I get a frantic call from camp bow wow, stating that she has kennel cough. I needed to have my emergency contact come pick her up and remove her from their facility. I was in no position to cancel my business trip and return back to California to address this. I called my emergency contact and asked this person if they would bewilling to pick up my dog and bring her to a vet hospital. I called around the area from out of state and found a vet that would accomidate my dog until I returned. My friend picked up the dog and took her to the vet where they treated her and kept her until I returned. In the meantime I tried to reach out to the owners of camp bow wow, but they were out of the country, and would not return until the 20th of the month. The manager was condisending to me when I inquired about my dog, and that did not make the situation any easier. I was not happy about the way they handled this situation in any fashion, in my opinion they could have helped me through this difficult process, being so far away, but they would not help me navigate any vets or boarding at all. The lack of customer service was reprehensable, and not in the intrests of me or my dog. I will not place my dog in their care ever again as they were very...
Read moreSo I'm writing this review for my parents who have had a few bad visits to the Elk Grove location. We would have given this place zero stars but that wasn't an option. They left their dog there for a 3 day visit and left enough food for a few additional days if their trip was extended. They were told there was no food left when they picked her up after the 3 days which meant they either over fed her or they gave her some other dogs food. Well after they got her to the car they could smell something and realized that her entire rear end and tail was covered in dried up feces and she had diarrhea when they returned home. Her diarrhea continued for days and she still isn't eating like she used to. Her demeanor has changed and they may be taking her to the vet soon if she doesn't start eating properly soon. How do you mix up a dogs food for one and how do you not realize the dog has diarrhea and that it's all over her? We trust places like this with our animals and they are our family so this type of mistreatment is unacceptable. Think twice about using this location for...
Read moreMy dog was a rescue from a meat farm in Korea. She is incredibly skittish and not very trusting of people. We have had her for a few weeks now and I had to suddenly go out of town. I was very hesitant to leave her with anyone due to her anxiety and the fact we just adopted her. She is very scared of humans but appears to be fine with other dogs, I was concerned how she would react to being left with other humans. I dropped her off in the morning to see how she would do and called back in the afternoon. The staff assured me she was doing fine and I was happy to watch her playing on the webcams with other dogs. I went out of town for a couple days and occasionally called to check on her. I hated being "that guy" and constantly calling to check on my dog. Normally I am incredibly relaxed about such things but I was very worried about leaving her. When I picked her up a few days later she was happy and exhausted from playing so much. The staff gave me an update as to how she was doing. I was happy to hear that she behaved herself and she was worn out from the visit to...
