We bought a new refrigerator for our cottage from Kerntz in mid-August, 2022 from Kerntz. The whole experience was very positive. Terry and Jeff are brothers,: Terry focuses on sales and Jeff on service (I think). Both were wonderful to work with. When we were in the store, Terry gave us clear advice on our options— steering us to the cheaper Whirlpool since Maytag is also owned by Whirlpool and the difference is largely warranty. Jeff confirmed my thinking on replacing the lid switch on our washer (a separate project).
Delivery is when they really shined: helping to advise us on how to get a 30” wide appliance through a 27.5” cottage kitchen door took some work, but they took the doors and hinges off of the fridge and we got the door and quarter round off of the doorway and Jeff and Terry squeaked the refrigerator through with maybe 1/8” to spare. They even helped me load the old refrigerator on a trailer we had packed with stuff to go to the Northwoods Transfer Station, advising me how to take the door off and where to park… all the while, saving us $50!
We might’ve saved $25 by driving to Virginia and going to Menards, but I don’t think know if the Menards guys would’ve helped figure out how to get it into the kitchen or helped me to think through the fridge disposal.
We had a great experience with the Kerntz brothers!, and would buy...
Read moreAmazing service! My mom and I walked in the store this morning and talked with Terry. He walked us through his mattress options and gave us the details across all levels of the beds he had. Never tried to oversell, just worked with us to help find the right comfort within our budget. He then came over to house to measure the space. A few hours later he had two mattresses, boxsprings and frames delivered to the house, hauled up the stairs and set up! This was the most hassle free, easy and service friendly purchase I've experienced in years. Thank you Terry for your amazing service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Kerntz...
Read moreWhile I do not blame the people at Kerntz I had a terrible experience with the whirlpool electric range that I purchased less than 2 years ago. I would guess less than 20 hours of use on that range as it is a seasonal cabin. Electronic control board failure and the replacement part was 350 to 400 dollars. I would recommend that you avoid whirlpool as they appear to put profit over reliability at that company. Again, not Kerntz fault but I will never buy whirlpool again. Bad performance from a whirlpool duet front load washer with cheap plastic control board mounts also. Just say no...
