We are a large family 5 kids. Our server brought the kids coloring books not whoever seated us. My husband and I ordered steaks, my 11 year old got the shrimp basket, my 4&5 year olds split the the kids cheese burger and my 7 month old twins put bread crumbs in their mouth and on the floor.
I ordered the Steer Beer sirloin Med rare, I received it med. The sauce had no flavor at all and there were very few peppercorns or flavor of peppercorns. I also got the baked potato, only because the au gratin potatoes were not offered and I didn't know they were an option until I overheard the table next to us order them from their server.
My husband ordered the ribeye medium it was med rare. It was still delicious and as I would have ordered it....he ordered steak fries which came with my steak and he got my baked potato.
The kids loved the cheese burger and my 11 year old loved her shrimp.
Ok so food was good, wine was good, beer was good, service not so much. We waited a long time after we first sat down for our server to come to our table. We waited a reasonable amount of time for drinks, our salads arrived and my husband needed a beer, our server didn't ask at this time if anyone needed or wanted anything and did not ask if we needed another beverage, he did not return until our food arrived at least 20 minutes later. After the food and second round of drinks was delivered, which I ask for, we did not see him again until he brought our check. We liked everything thing else about our experience but the service , I will say I observed the other 2 servers in this section being very attentive to their tables so maybe he was busy some where else but was not attending to our table, and we are very good tippers for good service as I work in the...
Read moreThe service was not friendly, not handicap friendly, the the food was gross and extremely over priced. First I am using a walker and the person seating us somehow waved me to get through a bunch of people, she did not wait for us, just walked to the table at the menus down and walked away. The server was in a hurry, rushed us, and definitely didn't want to be working. The chicken strips were overcooked. The ribeye steak dinner for 2 had no flavor, really fatty. When ordering we asked for mushrooms but didn't get them with our dinner (took about 15 minutes to get them along with barbecue sauce for the chicken strips). The salad was not fresh. The best part was the rolls and butter. Do not waist your money and time...
Read moreThis is by no means the fanciest steakhouse out there, but we did not mind the casual vibe. My husband got the salad to start, which was a good, but pretty basic garden salad. I got the cheddar wild rice soup, and it was hands down the best soup I’ve ever had in my life. I would do almost anything to get my hands on that secret family recipe! My husband ordered a steak for his entree with a side of steak fries, which he said were very good. I ordered the chargrilled chicken breast, which came with wild rice and was topped with a sort of honey mustard sauce. The chicken was moist, the wild rice was cooked perfectly, and the sauce made the dish very flavorful. I would love to come back to visit Ely and...
