This place is so wonderful. I have a son who was diagnosed a little after 2 years of age with Autism, Aggressive Behavioral disorder, Speech delay (Non-verbal) and PICA (he would eat everything and anything that wasn't food). My son received Early intervention until 3 years of age. He was then referred to a school setting where he was placed in a preschool ACES program with an IEP. However, I believe this was the worst mistake I did. They didn't even follow the IEP and stated they were short staff when it came to Speech or OT services. Therefore he was babied and his behavior became worse. He started harming himself and others (biting, pinching, head butting, and throwing himself to the floor hard on his knees). I knew deep down this had to be a way for him to express himself since he didn't know how to speak. My husband and I became frustrated to the point where we needed help and didn't know how or where to ask. Following up with his developmental pediatrician, she referred him to this wonderful program Success on the Spectrum. Once he turned 4 years old he started there. He receives one on one services 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. In just one month of him attending I have seen a great difference. He is starting to say some words, point to what he wants and do "more" sign language. His behavior has also improved a lot at home and he is eating less non-food items. SOS Englewood Cliffs has been such a blessing for our family. I can't say enough about how instrumental they have been in the progress of our babies. We have two children attending who have very different needs. We receive multiple therapies there. We can't thank the team enough. They truly go above & beyond for us all.
