I'm a bit biased here because this particular hardware store is a part of my heritage. Some of my earliest memories are of visiting this location with my grandfather. Recollections burned into my cherished memory bank, of a time passed, a lost mentor, exploring the caverns of endless opportunities and possibilities driven by creative imagination and powered by grandfather's knowledge of all the important things to a young boy. Bins of bolts, wire, racks of pipes and coils, and a tumbler of tools that one day I too would know how to use.
It's the same place, friendly, familiar, and anything a boy, a man, or a grandfather needs. Moms and daughters too. Homeowners' resources are everywhere at AandA, businesses will never be disappointed as well.
Completely the same as when this 52-year-old washed-up racer looked through his Englewood native eyes in 1973, however modernized for convenience with the selection of everything mechanical, structural, or natural than anyone would expect to fit in a space its size The tradin'post ain't no box store.. its a legacy of creativity and hometown honesty and integrity. I'll never forget him, and he knew everything! "AnA has everything we'll need" grandpa said. They still...
Read moreI bought staples for $4.99 at another ACE on my way home and they were the wrong size. I didn't feel like driving all the way back to the other store. ( I have cancer) I decided to exchange them with the receipt at this Ace as it is 2 blocks from my house. The cashier was flippant and rude. Right away she told me all the Ace's are independently owned and that there was nothing she could do. The staples were an Ace brand and I had my receipt. I know a lot about customer service and retail. They easily could have exchanged them. As I was walking out she yelled "Have a nice evening!" I turned around to point out that the staples say Ace on them and she was coming out the door after me. She said it didn't matter. I asked her her name and expressed how awful her service was and she laughed and said her name is Sonia. Then she just laughed and said her name again. I went out in the lot to a man that I thought was the manager and he just listened to my whole story. I told him I live in the neighborhood. He just said he wouldn't help me either. I told him it would cost him very little to exchange those staples and he just walked away. Horrible...
Read moreSome things never change at A&A Tradin Post. Their Customer Service is absolutley the worst. If it wasn't so far to another store, I would never return to this store again. I'm 80 Years Old and I needed to use their restroom. I was told that they didn't have a public restroom. I explained the urgent need and they finally allowed me to use the facility. I was then lectured by the associate and told that I should plan my shopping trips and use the restroom prior to leaving home. No one ever smiles, rarely offers assistance and the cashiers rarely thank you. Today's cashier, Leigh, barely spoke, maybe 10 words, didn't smile, didn't thank me, just handed me my receipt. The short guy in hardware did walk me to where the item I was looking for, "Might Be", his words. Worst Ace Hardware I have ever shopped in. Its always the same at this store! If I didn't want sevice or a smile, I could always go to Home Depot.
I just received a response from A&A.....I don't that they even read my review considering their response. They just don't care. What's one customer, more or less? THIS ACE...
