Political bar ignore if you are any thing left leaning. Out of 40 bars in denver reviewed from Westword to pueblo colorado to denver including buffalo bills old drinking spot........ this has to be easily in my negative top 25% bar experiences from getting shouted out by overly drunken patrons upon arrival to mama dees highly reviewed but negative attitude from the westword to even listening easily one of my worst night outs beyond meeting some regulars that this is one of 3 bars I have left zero dollar tip which is only 8% of the bars i have so far visited but it's because my experience was that unpleasant if the bartender still wants his tip to fix his broken ass boots come by and visit me if you were listening at all to my convo with you're regular but my experience with the praised mama dee was so negative this was easily my bottom 8% bars currently in colorado to visit. This place was bought in Fall 2017 by a family that has lived in Englewood for several generations. The bartender Jesse (also one of the owners) is a local artist and musician and an all around super cool guy. It's very important to him that no matter who you are, you're welcome here. The kitchen serves bar food and I think they might expand the selections in the future. There's a pool table, video games, and several TVs. There's also a jukebox that plays very random stuff unless you pick some songs! Jesse knows a lot of bands so there's frequently live music here. We went on a weeknight and it was pretty calm, but it sounds like the place gets pretty packed on the weekends during live shows. The drinks are strong and the people are nice, what else...

So I had been diggin this place. But tonight was open mic night and a guy was doing a stand-up comedy bit and just when he made me laugh so I went closer to the stage & joked about being afraid to go into stores and being next to black people because he was afraid he'd be caught stealing. And said some obscenities. I'm disgusted w this bar now especially since nobody seemed to care! I would've kicked him out or let any black patron toss him out however...
