Such a great place to visit and pick up that special dog, cat or kitten as a companion. Fantastic staff is super friendly. Purchase one of their books that helps with food, litter, blankets, beds, etc. for all those little paws that they take care of. The Kyleson Chronicles will be putting together a video to help them get adoptive parents and fosters. I'll post it out here as well for everyone to be able to enjoy. This place is amazing! We recently moved to enid OK from Massachusetts and we got both our dogs from the SPCA. Everything was included with the cost of the dogs and they always call to make sure the animals are still settling well. Ive had some of my friends back home look at their website to adopt pets since they travel the animals for them all over the country! Just an amazing place over all they take such great care of the animals that don't have homes too so thank you guys for all the hard work you do!

Warning to anyone adopting a puppy( Parvo alert):

As many of you know I recently contracted to adopt a rescue puppy! Before anyone attempts to JUDGE or scold me for posting and possibly hurt anyone or their business, read on with an open mind or keep scrolling as keyboard tough guys will not be tolerated!

I contracted after a ridiculous 3 month search with the Enid Oklahoma SPCA for a 9 week old German Shepherd. Enid SPCA transports 24-40 dogs monthly to New England. I am a savant at investigation, and they had more positive than negative., so yes I did my homework.

We paid for a beautiful Great Pyrenees that was 8 weeks and would be available in 3 weeks. I paid in full. The morning before transport I had 3 urgent calls, texts, etc from Linda their program manager who while on speakerphone with my stepdaughter and wife as we were very excited....that the puppy apparently had a growth or abscess that grew undetected almost overnight and died that morning!!

Huh? Is that a sick joke? Nope, the poor thing died of cancer or something?!?! According to the “story” from Linda.

Initially Enidspca was awesome and immediately refunded the adoption fee. I talked to my girls and we asked Linda if she had another healthy option, as we trusted them and thought poor Athena was a fluke! Yes, unfortunately Arius named her in the Greek tradition of our dogs and became attached and desperately waited for updates and pictures.

I immediately was offered a beautiful German Shepherd that Linda said was her sister’s litter that couldn’t take care of her and both parents were GS’s! What a blessing! The manager is getting us a puppy she can vouch for from her sister!

The day of transport from Oklahoma to Rhode Island, Linda called and said they had to drop our puppy’s sister in Indiana as she was sick in transport and they were worried it was Parvo. Linda called and explained the situation, she proceeded to stipulate that our Tula( Big Fat Greek Wedding) was fine, eating and was energetic etc. After the pain of losing her predecessor Athena, we took the opinion of the health of Tula and decided to trust Linda that she was fine and made sure we picked her up Saturday 2/27 in Rhodie.

Monday 3/1 at 3pm Tula went from a happy and energetic puppy to extreme diarrhea and vomiting. We immediately took her to the animal hospital where she was diagnosed with Parvo.

Here’s the kicker that should keep the Keyboard Cowboys happy. I talked to Linda multiple times, she not only never said that tula’s sister had several days later had Parvo, but she completely lied about the Great Pyrenees which THE DIRECTOR OF ENID SPCA, Vickie Grantz told me Athena absolutely died of Parvo. I engaged Vickie the Director of Enidspca who knew the conversations behind the scenes. Vickie also seemed mortified that Linda lied about Athena the Pyrenees dying of a growth or tumor.

I did try to get them to help with the $3350 this has already cost for a puppy that deserves better than Enidspca. They refunded me the $500 adoption fee and the local lady Lorena Lanza gave us $200 of what she claimed was her own money. Vickie from Enidspca said she submitted $300 for reimbursement. These are FACTS!!!! I have asked Vickie Grantz to do the right thing and help us financially as it’s the right thing to do. I offered a $1000 settlement to just make her own up to the collusion of her staff and volunteers to transport 12-15 plus SICK OR DYING DOGS, to our state for illegal resale!

My opinion is that If you see a pattern here, I would love to have you call or message me before anyone puts their kids, emotions, finances and heart on the line and adopt a dog from Enid SPCA of Oklahoma or Lorena Lanza locally.

If you read all of this, I apologize for the lengthy details. I’m a good man that really loved and trusted these people. I waited a week to post this after....Tula...

I adopted a cat from animal control. They gave me a voucher to receive a free neuter, vaccines, and microchip from espca. You have to physically go up to espca and apply for the free services on their computer. You aren't given a date of when your animal can get in- you just have to wait until they call you. A few weeks after applying I called up there to see if they had an estimated time- so i could make sure i could take off for work to drop him off and get an idea of how long it would take- and every time I've ever called up there, they're always rude. The lady on the phone was yelling at me about "how can she give me a date if I dont have a vet to perform the services" 2 weeks later they called me to tell me he had an appointment. I go to the appointment and there's a bunch of people there. It was very unorganized. I filled out the paperwork and SPECIFICALLY checked the "no I do not want a microchip" I even underlined NO. It's my right and personal belief that humans or animals should not have a foreign object, like a microchip, implanted in them. I came back to pick him up and they microchipped him anyways and told me "it was free" and that there was nothing they could do about it. It could be surgeically removed but i would be responsible for taking him somewhere to do that. I said no you did something you werent supposed to. How would you feel if someone did something to your cat you didnt want? She said they could have their director call me and apologize... thats all they could do. I said no need to call me just please give me my cat and paperwork. Then the lady who i guess was responsible for not reading the paperwork i filled out, kept asking me why i believed animals shouldnt be microchipped... almost shaming me because I didn't want him microchipped. It was like she was trying to convince me their mistake was okay. i told her i didnt believe they should have a microchip in them and i shouldnt have to continue to explain myself. Then she said well then i guess you dont want the flea and tick medication either?? I said no I want the flea and tick meds I just didn't want him microchipped. I asked why didn't they read the paperwork beforehand and they told me "it was a busy day"... not only did they microchip my cat when I specifically told them not to, they are just so rude. I understand they deal with a lot however i would never recommend this place to anyone. They were hateful to a lady who had brought her cat to get spayed and she didn't have a carrier. On the instructions, it said a cardboard carrier would be provided if you didn't have one. They would not let this lady come in and threw a cardboard box at her outside and told her to "figure it out herself" I went and helped this lady with the box so she could get her cat spayed... since we had to wait forever before we could even get the appointment. the way this place is run and the uncompassionate, negligent staff are honestly a nightmare. Maybe adopting from here is different, but please take my advice and do not get your cat or dog spayed/neutered here. Especially when you specifically tell them no and they do whatever they want anyways. It's worth just saving your money and going to pond creek vet for a spay/neuter. Completely disappointed and upset with my...

Wow! Are you serious? Im writing this on behalf of my cousin who is much too upset to write this, she brought her cat in yesterday to be spayed and they sent her home THE SAME DAY. At any other animal clinic they keep them overnight to make sure everything is well. The cat was completely unresponsive and would barely move. After pissing on herself the next day she had a seizure and passed away. I called personally and was far too respectful to the lady that answered the phone, who told me the director was “busy” and would call me at noon. No phone call at noon.... my cousin called at this point and is told by the same lady that shes “cant read the directors mind.” We paid this company to take this cats life and in my opinion when they knew they were wrong they tried to give us this animal back early to put the blame on us. We will be taking legal action. **update: a close friend also told me they did the same thing happened with her dog. They took him to get neutered and the dog died. They didnt call her until THE NEXT DAY to tell her her puppy had passed. I dont want anyone else to lose an animal because of amateur surgery. No hate to this company but if they cantdo it right DONT TO IT...
