Tenletters Escape Rooms is a blast! What a great addition to downtown Erie. My teenage daughter and her friends beat us to it, but I finally managed to check it out last month with my entire book group. We split into two rooms (Miners Millions and The Heist) and have vowed to keep silent about the specifics so we could return and switch rooms. Alas, we did not manage to escape in time, but that did nothing to detract from the fun we had! (And we all maintain that we would have given five more minutes). Russ was so great to work with and his easygoing and humorous vibe made for a super time had by all. We all got swept up in the fun of trying to puzzle our way into a solution and out of the room. I love that local Erie history is sprinkled throughout (though you in no way have to be familiar with Erie). Word of advice - use your hints! And definitely communicate out loud with your team. Be prepared to laugh, yell, get creative, and enjoy an hour of engaging fun. First rate!
Review Update - 7/30/23 I returned for more fun at Tenletters, this time with my husband and son who have never done an escape room. We did Puzzler and had a blast. It has a relatively low escape rate percentage, so we didn't have high expectations for escaping, but we did really well and after having done all three rooms at Tenletters, I think Puzzler might be my favorite yet. I loved the puzzles and with the room being smaller I felt it was almost easier to communicate. We could have used one more person (that's probably why you can book four) as there were times when my husband and son were working on something, and it would have been nice if I had someone to brainstorm with during those times. No matter the room, expect to be challenged, have fun, and leave with a sense of...

The great news Our host\game master was terrific. His humor was quick and sassy, making the whole experience feel fresh and exciting. He is clearly passionate about the rooms at Ten Letter, and was willing to spend extra time with us personalizing the experience. -parking in downtown Erie is easy and there are plenty of yummy, nearby eateries to extend your night out or afternoon adventure the room we did was challenging with detailed props and decor and some parallel puzzling to keep several of us busy at once. -we were able to escape, but with just seconds to spare
The other news several of the mechanics in The Heist were finicky which meant you lost time fiddling with a lock or input screen waiting for a response even after you solved the clue one puzzle required a pedantically long back and forth to get enough numbers to open a lock. It was interesting for the first digits, but grew old for the additional digits lots of padlocks and keys
We are excited to come back and try "the puzzler" room which sounds very interesting and the host mentioned it is his favorite.

Read moreabsolute lovely staff!! Steve and Russ instantly showed that the game was going to be enjoyable, and they very clearly enjoy what they’re doing. There’s so much love and thought put into their rooms (I’ve only played the Puzzlers so far but I have absolutely no doubt the same goes for the other two) and you can tell they probably have just as much fun as you do.
A unique thing about their rooms is that they have a standard and an expert mode for the rooms, which I found super interesting! Due to the fact that we were playing the hardest room, we opted for standard, but I’m definitely curious about trying expert for one of the others.
The environment was great and I really just wanted to thank Steve for being so sweet!! It was very nice to meet him and I’m super excited to see the...
