We’ve tried it two times. I live in Erie and very much want to support local business but the last time we went in was a total disaster. We arrived around 6:20 and our party ended up being about 10 people. At the time this represented a little less than half of the total number of people in the bar, so not very crowded. The idea was that we’d grab a few drinks and apps before a dinner reservation in town. The server was very friendly while taking orders but it went downhill very quickly. Two of the whiskey flights were incorrect and had to be returned. It took approximately10 minutes for the correct drink order to come out and no apology for the mix up or the delay. One of my party ordered apps (olives and bruschetta) with the initial drink order and they were not delivered for over 40 minutes (when I finally asked if they were coming). When I did ask about the appetizers, I got a ton of attitude from the server. We ended up leaving in under an hour. At no point did any of the servers refill our water bottles or ask if we wanted another round. The place was not crowded at all, so I’m not sure what explains the lack of attention from the staff. We could have easily spent well over $500 for cocktails and apps as a party of 10 had they been attentive and friendly. It’s really unfortunate that I’m not motivated to return. Again, I live here and want places other than birdhouse, Piripi, and 24 carrot to thrive. Had we not had a dinner reservation, I would have liked to share my experience with the owner, who I believe was there. I’m not trying to dump on this place, just relaying our experience and letting them know the night could have been far more profitable with a little...
Read moreThis place seems to struggle with identity.
It’s a bar but it takes awhile to get a drink. It’s a restaurant with a small, lackluster menu. It’s not a social club whatsoever.
I thought that a social club would have more to do, maybe have a few tv’s for game days, pool tables, etc. Instead it’s a bunch of 2-4 tops in a room with kids running around and maybe Jenga if available. The atmosphere is not one you’d expect from a social club.
Drinks are good but expensive—I can’t imagine spending a few hours there when you can’t get a drink for less than $12. Food is hit or miss, it’s really sandwiches and charcuterie, which would be fine for a social club.
I think there is potential here and I want to like it more, but it seems like it’s not sure whether it should be a bar, social club, or family establishment. I would love more of an adult focused spot—hard to enjoy being here with kids running around and screaming. Agreed that this place can get very loud.
Maybe these are growing pains, I’ll continue to give it a chance, but it just has zero identity...
Read moreI really want to love this place, but it is only ok for me. It seems like such a good fit for Erie and a place I would enjoy. The atmosphere is great and the location is great. Overall I would say the drinks are good but it is worth noting that every time we go in, they are made differently.
The first time me and my wife went in was for the soft opening on Valentines. Obviously still working things out but the service was great and the bartender made some amazing mixed drinks. The only think underwhelming was the cheese platter which was just cubed cheese from a bag at the store.
We have been back a few times since then and just been unimpressed. The last time they were setting g up for an event the next day. Service was extremely slow. It took over 10 minutes to get our first drinks after ordering and we wanted a second round of drinks but had to wait so long that we just decided to leave. When drinks are $10 and up, it is hard to justify the cost for...
