I come here frequently to study, do homework, and catch up on work emails, trainings, etc. I have had a mostly great experience! The coffee is good, the quiche is pretty good, though I wish there were more non-sugary options, and the staff are mostly wonderful. I did have one negative experience, where a barista told me they couldn't make my peppermint mocha, because they use crushed peppermint and they didn't have any crushed peppermint ready. Normally I would have said no problem, it's fall not winter and I totally get that it's not "in season" yet, but I had gotten it 2 days prior, and the employee (I think he is the manager or owner?) had pulled out a large container of crushed peppermint to make it. I started to mention this, and she interrupted me saying that he must have gone above and beyond then, but she wasn't going to crush any until "the house" told her the drink was in season or something. I tried to finish my sentence that he had pulled out a large container of already crushed peppermint from under the counter, and was going to ask if she could check, but she rudely cut me off again, saying she wasn't going to make the drink. I wasn't going to argue over something silly, because it was obviously a bigger deal to her, so I said okay. It just sat with me poorly as being unnecessarily rude. But, we all have bad days, and I'd much rather go to Fox Dog than Cristo's, so I will continue to go, though maybe not...
Read moreFox Dog Coffee in Erie is the kind of place that instantly makes you feel welcome. Despite the construction going on, from the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted not just by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, but by some of the friendliest baristas around. They’re warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about their craft—happy to chat about beans, brew methods, or just brighten your day with a smile.
One of the highlights here is the coffee art. Whether it’s a classic heart or a more intricate rosetta, the baristas put care into every pour. It’s the kind of thoughtful touch that elevates a great drink into something special.
The space itself is airy and inviting. Big windows flood the café with natural light, creating a bright, relaxed vibe perfect for working, meeting up with friends, or simply enjoying a slow morning. There’s plenty of seating too—no need to hover or rush to snag a table, even during busier times.
Fox Dog hits that perfect balance: high-quality coffee, talented and friendly staff, and a beautiful, comfortable environment. It’s a true gem in Erie, and well worth making a...
Read moreBeware just some things you need to know about this COFFEE SHOP!! Just know the hours that are posted Are NOT The true Time… Several times I’ve come before 4 o’clock, and they have already shut down their espresso machine!!! I’m very disappointed and frankly surprised since this is a COFFEE SHOP after all!!! Also, in the morning, I tried to get there before working hours… Which is their busy time in the morning and there’s only one person taking the orders, making the coffee and food that some families are having in the morning … I felt sorry for the young girl behind the counter working as fast as she can serving three families ahead of me. It took me over 35 minutes to get one espresso drink.!!( late for work) .. I’ve had my own business in the past and tried to accommodate the morning coffee drinkers headed to work.. One would think you would have at least two people working behind the counters during the morning rush-hour (not just complaining also trying to come up...
