Where to start?? Simply put, Exeter Cycles should be the ONLY place you should purchase a bike or components. Why there and not online?? Easy answer: CUSTOMER SERVICE ! You will NOT get the level of service online or probably anyplace else that you get from E.C. I recently purchased an expensive bike(at least for me anyway) and they made the whole transaction seamless and stress free. All of the staff are patient and the don't talk down to you when you are not as knowledgeable as they are. At another point I overheard the same staff member who sold me my bike help out a young couple with very young children. They were purchasing a bike for their oldest child of 6-7 years old. That staff member made them feel that their $200 purchase was just as important as my $3000 purchase. That was truly cool to hear and see. Prices; Their prices are just as good as online BUT again, you cannot compare online with E.C. customer service. If you get parts/components online and have an issue, Caveat Emptor. I rave about their customer service because it seems to be a lost practice. I went in to ask a component/repair question, the Tech came out from the back, looked at my derailleur and gave me pointers. At no point did Shane ( I think that was his name) make me feel that I was bothering him. Exeter Cycles: You rock and you have this...
Read moreI dealt with these bastards on two separate occasions. And both times they were AWESOME. One time they helped me order my Stages Power Meter, they're an official dealer (which alone shows how legit they are) and they helped me determine what would fit my BB30.. blah blah. Deposit, then picked up and paid remainder.
The SECOND bloody time... I rode my bike down there from Newmarket. Bought new shimano shoes & cleats and a rack and the guy who sold it to me was like, "are you going to be able to carry all this?" And I replied, "I'm going to put the rack on and put my old shoes on the rack."
To cut to the chase I had to borrow a couple of wrenches in order to get it all to fit properly, my multi tool only did so much you see. They were real nice about it even though it was kind of impolite of me to ask to use their tools. I rate this shop. They're the only one on the seacoast I'd even think of buying more than a tube or a tire at. First class fellas over here,...
Read moreWhile on a long bike ride this week, starting from Merrimac, MA, my Trek Silque SLX was behaving differently. A few weeks previously I stopped by my regular MA bike shop, but they said all was fine. However, when Jonathan at Exeter Cycles patiently listened to my "bike woes," even without an appointment he began to check my bike out, and quickly saw the big problem. He then found other serious issues. Jonathan treated me with the greatest respect. As an older female cyclist who cycles thousands of miles yearly, I sometimes feel I'm not taken as seriously as a guy at bike shops. This was NOT the case at Exeter Cyclists. Jonathan got my bike into safe riding condition, and I scheduled an appointment for the following week for the very needed repairs. I'm greatly impressed with the care I received at Exeter Cycles. I'm now willing to drive the extra miles to have my bikes taken care of by the fine team at Exeter Cycles. Thank you Jonathan - and to all the staff at...
