kim's nails spa — Local services in Fair Lawn

I went to Kim a few times. My issues are that she takes forever and is incredibly slow. Whenever I would tell her what kind of design I wanted or show her pictures, she would argue with me and try to do it differently. Excuse me but I'm paying you to do what I say, not for your opinion. She was so rude trying to convince me over and over to do it her way. Ridiculous. She also didn't listen and messed up my pedicure once. And she was terrible at filing, and each time, I would have to go home and fix all the nails myself. She would also force me to tip her and ask me how much I wanted to tip her, which is very rude. Plus, I shouldn't have to tip the owner, she's not working for tips, she's getting all the money for herself. The only reason I came back a few times was because she did do a good job otherwise and I hate having to find a new place again, plus it was close. But the last straw was when I tried to make an appointment, she gave me her cell # to text and call for appointments. So I called and she said she'd call me back. Never did. Called a few hours later, didn't answer. Texted that I'd like to make an appointment. No answer. Next day, tried again and still nothing. Absolutely ridiculous. Glad I'm done with her...

Not a fan of this place at all sadly… I guess I should’ve requested the owner based off the reviews but I went for a pedicure last week and it was the worst pedicure for a very expensive price.. the place was completely empty when I went in, the pedicure tub your feet go in had water in it already when I was asked to get into a chair? Never seen that before but every other place is brand new plastic inside the tubs and they fill it out brand new for you. The person cut the sides of all my toes without actually cutting the cuticles up and left the partially chopped nails on each side and then painted over them so I had to use my own clippers to chop apart my nails later that night. Now I will probably have a couple toes I will have to keep cutting to make sure I don’t get ingrown toenails… The gel is way too thick and uneven, but the color was really nice so I guess there’s that. This is a really difficult review to write because I absolutely agree that Kim is an amazing nail stylist. She took my appointment right away and did a awesome job on my nails, so why only 3 stars? She complained the entire time she did my nails. Apparently, she did not like the style I like, she said I should take off my gel wraps and let her redo them in the way SHE was used to, to make it easier on her and quicker.... Really? Let's be clear, there wasn't anything wrong with my wraps nor my nails, she just said she was used to doing short and flat. Not what I wanted. Again, in the end, she did a lovely job on my nails and I would have continued to go to her but it was clear that it was going to be her way moving forward and that was not what I wanted for myself. It was very disappointing. If you like how she styles nails, I do highly recommend her, for anyone else, I'd look elsewhere for a stylist with a broader pallet...
