Alaska Refinishing and Upholstery — Local services in Fairbanks

I accidentally burned my couch BAD and I thought it was toast (pun intended). The stuffing was mangled and melted, the fabric was crusty, and both the bottom AND top cushions were damaged. I figured it was a lost cause... and I just bought the couch new 6 months ago.

I emailed Alaska Refinishing with photos of the couch, and they got back to me next business day. They asked me to disassemble the cushions and bring them in. The receptionist was skeptical due to the extent of the damage and not having access to a matching fabric. However, the repair professional took a look at it, and realized the backside flap could be used for replacement fabric. He quoted me $400 and said it could take two months. I was happy with both pieces of information.

They didn't fix it in two months... they fixed it in TWO WEEKS!!! I am ECSTATIC!!! I honestly thought I would have to throw away this new couch, and I was wrong. Not only that, but they got it done in RECORD TIME. While it's not perfect, I am at a loss for words... because they took a lost cause and turned it into functional furniture again (with almost non-existant available resources).

Thank you guys!!! I will be coming back again for any and all fabric needs...

Kind, honest people who will refinish or reupholster whatever you need beautifully. I needed a custom piece made for my hot tub cover that had fallen off. The owner had me in and out of the shop same day and saved me an extra trip to Fairbanks, time and expense of having the piece stitched into our hot tub cover.
