Aurora Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in Fairbanks

They seemed apathetic about customer service. We felt disappointed with our experience here. The food was mostly just rice. Maybe it's cuz we ordered it to go? We ordered 3 entrees and all 3 were 80% rice along with some pieces of meat, a tablespoon each of hummus and veggies (hardly any for the size of the entree). So we paid $13 for a bunch of rice.... We ordered pickup and they didn't include all of our order. They left out the baklava. We asked them to refund the baklava since we were staying 30 mins away. We spoke to the mngr Daniel and he said they would not/could not refund us the money to our card, rather that we can come pick up the baklava some other time. Mistakes happen but at least try to remedy your mistake. Overall, not a good experience or value for our money.

EDIT: We went back to collect our refund from the baklava we didn't get and they were closed for maintenance during their business hours. We called and a dishwasher answered and said she couldn't do anything for us but she would have the manager Daniel call us. 4 days later he has not...

I've had authentic eastern Mediterranean-style foods before, and this place takes the prize! Good assortment of options, fresh meals, and delicious. I was especially pleased with the honesty of the cashier; having believed my total to be more than it actually was, the ten dollar bill was returned to me. Also, when placing the order, the cashier saw to it in ensuring the order was accurate. My only recommendation for improvement is their correspondence of orders among themselves: first taking my order for payment, I was surprised in having to give it again to a different individual who was the one who served it up. I suggest that this minute step to be eliminated for faster processing of orders...

We read good reviews about this place and it really was excellent. We were visiting from Georgia and wanted to try Mediterranean food in Fairbanks. What better place than what it's famous for?! Aurora! It's a simple looking place, we think more for take out than dine in. We dined in. The owner greeted us with a smile and answered our questions with patience. We ordered chicken shawarma and steak kabob with fries and lentil soup. Every item was absolutely delicious! 👌🏼😋 Owner came to ask us how everything was. Once we were done we asked him where to put our dirty dishes. He just waved at us and said don't worry. That was very sweet. Thank you for your hospitality. Highly recommend...
