I needed to get something urgently, so I decided to go to Burlington since they close @12 AM on Saturdays.
However, I was approached by a rude woman who introduced herself with two different names and claimed to be the manager (I later found out this was a complete lie when the actual manager approached me and apologized for her employee’s behavior). In short, this woman followed me around and asked me to leave at 11:30 PM because they were "closed."
This wasn't my first time at this store, but it will certainly be my last due to the poor treatment I received from your employee, Eveling, who lied about the store's closing time, her name, and her role, and followed me around.
Train staff and improve customer service skills. Honor your store hours, or else, update them on your website, store & Google listings instead of following your customers around the store because you wanna leave 30 minutes early!
At 11:45 PM, when this woman saw me again, she claimed they were closed and that I was the only person in the store and needed to leave, even though there were other customers present. I asked for her name, and she first introduced herself as "Ivy." When I requested to speak with the supervisor, she told me she was the manager.
At 11:49 PM, as I was checking out, I asked her name again, and she provided a different one this time. Changing her name in 10 minutes—how convenient!
A few minutes later, when I was leaving the store, I’ve decided to take a photo of the store hours, a very kind lady approached me and asked if everything was okay. I explained that I was just taking a photo of the hours and shared my negative experience. She introduced herself as the manager and apologized. To say I was shocked is an understatement! I asked her who had been following me around the store, and the manager said, "Her name is Eveling. I'm sorry; she does not have much...
Read moreI am 73 years old and a frequent shopper at Burlington for my five grandbabies. Today's visIt was an absolutely, unbelievably terrible waste of my time! But for the fact I was there wen the store opened and found great bargains, I should've still kept my 200 bucks and dumped my four bags of shoes n other stuff onto the floor and walked out! After waiting in line to get rung up by one of only two cashiers at checkout, it took two salespeople forever to return with prices (using nothing remotely resembling what I had) for two untagged items I wanted to buy n cud've done without. For some reason (still a mystery to me) it took FOUR other people to TRY to ring me up. The debit swiper showed they were charging me for three items wen I only had two. Each of the four insisted the pad was wrong, that the cash register was correct since it showed only two items. I asked them to just print the register receipt then cuz that wd solve the problem. Along came miss store manager, Marie. A rude, obnoxious, unapologetic, unprofessional, ignorant woman who was totally dismissive of me until I asked who she was. I was shaking, my head hurting. If I had left, all my time would've been wasted! Tho the Lines were much longer now, I still told her how I felt about her disrespect. She didnt care, just ignored me and began ordering people around..."You go over there, you take that register, you do this, take that register and you ring up the entire sale over again....." Perhaps Burlington's district/area manager and Corporate Office's Customer Complaint Department will get her to think twice before she ever blows off their customers again. Three of the employees apologized when they did...
Read moreHorrible service. I bought a pair of shoes last sunday (Feb 19th). Unfortunately, I had to return them because the size label was wrong. The shoes didn't have a tag either. I didn't save the receipt because I had no intentions of returning it. But when I wore them I realized they were too small. So I went to the store to return them. The salesman was the coldest person I have met so far. His answer was "you cant return them" I mean there was no sorry or at least an attempt to view our bill (specially at Burlington they take your phone number saying just for a backup. in case you loose your receipt) but no his answer was no you can't return. and when I asked him why he said because you don't have a receipt and they are used. Well hello I didn't use them. Wonder if that is how they were when I bought them in the first place and then when I said I bought them last Sunday he was like ooh. nothing else. I don't care about the damn shoes or the refund. its just 15$. But I was planning on shopping at the store once I return the shoes. I just made a bill of around 100$ last Sunday and was about to purchase something else but with this whole incident I have decided never to shop...
