I had been to this place a couple of times back when it was called the Pamir Kabob House and did not like it at all because it was filthy and the food was horrible.
Last Monday we just happened to go to the Worldgate Center for lunch and I noticed that the place looked different and had a different name, my friend and I decided to give it a try again and give them another chance so to speak.....
Boy.. were we surprised!, This place has done a 180 turn around from a year or so ago as far as the food and atmosphere, I have been to many Kabob Houses in the Northern Virginia and Maryland, but seen nothing like this. The cleanest, Classiest Mediterranean fast casual restaurant I have seen and the food was just out of this world.
The lunch Buffet consists of different kinds of salads, Soups, hummus, yogurt different rices, 5 or 6 different Kabobs ( Beef, Chicken,Lamb) and sides of lamb or chicken curry and other stews...and their fresh baked bread... just too many to mention and then the desert and watermelon and hot tea...we just felt like royalty for around $10... folks you pay more than that for a little salad and soup or hummus at other places. Everything was fresh and the kabobs were being served as soon as they were made.
I have to compliment the new owners and management for a fine job they have done to this place and hope that others will learn to give their customers such value...
Read moreUnfortunately, I will have to agree with the 1 bad review. The reviews are not fake, that is what I do not agree with. After carefully reviewing the feedback from clients, I discovered simply, they are just reviews from the friendly local lunch crowd in the area. These people are not lying, they are just nice people that really believe the food is good.
For me, the food is bland, and not high quality. For a Kabob place, not bad, IF you have never had kabob in a foreign country or a Kabob house in the US. The sides like the spinach, was creamy like, not traditional at all, almost like American style creamed spinach. The chick peas were pretty good, however, the flavor is just not there. They have the stuffed grape leaves, but they were so big, did not appear to be appetizing. They do not have too much of a selection of fresh veggies, mostly pickled or grilled. Simple things like jalapenos, fresh chili, and raw onions are a staple to any cuisine or buffet in this case. They do have a great soup selection which I liked, the chicken soup was outstanding.
The restaurant is very clean and they are quick to attend to the tables.
My apologies to the owner for this 3 star review, however it is because your staff are very courteous, and welcoming, but the food is 1 star. I'm sad , I was hoping to have found a go to spot for when I was too...
Read moreI was just driving by looking for lunch and walked by this restaurant when I was checking out the Vietnamese restaurant next door. I saw the reviews on the window and decided to give this restaurant a try. I noticed the buffet immediately after walking into the restaurant. The buffet bar was large comparing to the size of the restaurant. The lady at the restaurant was so nice, friendly and helpful. I was really impressed with the variety of food options, and the meat dishes were pretty much all chicken. If you prefer beef, lamb or pork and dislike chicken, this buffet is probably not for you. Lunch was $13.00 like, tax included. There were enough seating for a small crowd but when it gets crowded, the sign on the monitor indicated that you are given 45 minutes to eat... Again, only if they are very busy. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. Not sure if I missed the lunch crowd. The food was very good for a buffet. I eat primarily just chicken, and this buffet is perfect for me. I would come back again, next time with a very hungry stomach. I recommend giving it a try and you can be the judge. My favorite part of my dining experience is the...
