It was a cool store with lots of neat things, but Iâm less inclined to visit again because the person behind the counter congratulated me on my baby on the way⊠and Iâm not pregnant. I basically got called fat by the person behind the counter. They apologized, but it shouldnât have been said in the first place. What if I were someone whoâd just had a miscarriage and still had the baby weight, instead of just someone whoâs overweight?
I wasnât going to leave a review, but I just wanted to make sure that the person knows how harmful assuming someone is pregnant and speaking about it can be. For me, yeah, Iâm fat, thatâs fine. Did I spend the rest of the day feeling incredibly insecure? Sure, but thatâs on me, not anyone else. But someone else struggling with fertility or who just lost a child? That would have been a lot worse.
Just a reminder to be considerate of the impact of statements like that. Great store, and everyone was mostly nice, really, just.. maybe think a bit before making assumptions and for voicing...
Read moreThis is the best Antique Shop in this part of Michigan. The shop is laid out in a way that makes going through and looking for things fun and easy.
One thing that we particularly like is that there isnât a ton of âjunkâ to sift through. This shop is an old building utilizing all of the rooms to display Vintage jewelry, China, glassware, clothing, furniture and many other wonderful things.
When you visit be prepared to spend some time looking to make sure you donât miss anything.
Stacy the owner is as down to earth as a person can get. She is just wonderful to speak with whether itâs about antiques or anything else.
I read some reviews that complained about prices. They are not unreasonable, remember this isnât a goodwill store, this is an Antique Shop with really wonderful treasures. Compared to other shops that arenât as nice nor as full as this one prices are much better.
Yesterdayâs Treasures is definitely worth visiting and is...
Read moreMy mom LOVES this store. She is an avid collector of brooches, and whenever she visits here from out of state, this is her favorite place to go because of their amazing collection of brooches. However, she was sold a brooch without a back, and the store was closed once she discovered it, so she could not personally return it as she was going back to Wisconsin. She gave her friend extra money to exchange the brooch for another more expensive one she liked. The owner did not believe that they sold the brooch broken, and she accused my mother of lying. She refused to exchange the brooch and was incredibly rude to my momâs friend who was simply trying to help. We are saddened that such a treasure of a place is now spoiled due to rude management, and I hope the situation will...
