My wife and I have gone to R&R several times. The service and food has gone downhill since their opening. We took some friends that had never been there last night to check it out. Once again it was under staffed with one girl working the floor. She was a bit rude and she clearly didn't want to be there. When we got our bill we were surprised that they had a 3% up charge for using a credit card. The fee was added before she even knew that we would be using a credit card to pay. They charge on average over 65% more than other nice bars in Fenton for their drinks and food yet still charge a penalty for using a card. WATCH your bill because you'll pay the fee even if you're using cash. The card service charges the business 1.5% yet R&R is profiting by charging 3%. I recommend the Fire Hall, Fenton Pub or the Rough Draft. The drinks are better and they don't penalize you for visiting their establishment. I'm looking into the legality of a business charging a higher fee than they are charged for the service simply to increase profit margins even when you pay a premium for poor service and sub par drinks. I won't be back and will strongly discourage others from visiting this...

This was the second time we (my husband and I ) had reservations here. Our first visit was 5 star all around, food, drinks, and service. This time, not so much. While I can't comment on the food or drinks, the service was decidedly lacking. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time and were seated promptly, and promptly forgotten. At the 10 minute mark I went to the server station and asked if we had been forgotten. Apparently there was a mixup, but I wasn't told what the mixup was but that someone would be right over. I went and sat down. Five minutes later, still no one had shown up to our table. At this point we were done. As we stood, a server brought over water to our table, which the hostess had already brought us when we sat down. While I can appreciate that sometimes tables get overlooked, after I pointed out that we hadn't seen a server, it shouldn't have taken another 5 minutes for someone to come over. This was so disappointing after the excellent visit the first time there. We may try again and hope tonight...

I've been here before on a slow day and sat at the bar. We had a great experience so took my family tonight (we go to Sugar house in Detroit regularly and thought we found some place close to home). We sat at a table tonight. It was not very busy when we first got there. We had to wait approximately 20 minutes for our first drink to get to the table. Two of us (party of only 4) ordered two different smoked drinks (which we order at Sugar House in Detroit regularly). They both smelled and tasted like leather. The other two drinks were great. It got busy and the one floor waitress got backed up. The smoked drink made one of our party sick and we had to leave. Took a while to get bill and cash out so took it up to the bar to cash out. I am very disappointed as this place could be a gold mine...and seems like it does a great business. Hoping our experience was due to the new female bartender they just hired and needing more staff on the floor. So sad hope they fix...

After months of talking about driving out to Fenton and trying this place, we finally did last weekend. We got there a little later in the evening so the majority of the rush was gone. We waited about 10 minutes to get in and ordered our drinks. If you're looking for something truly unique, this is the place to go. There's not enough of these types of places to go to. Drinks were great! Between the 4 of us, we each got different drinks and all tasted great. If you're going out to eat and drink, you're best getting tacos up front and getting drinks in the back. The speakeasy is geared toward drinks and a relaxing environment. Very dark inside which goes with the speakeasy feel, they really do pull off that feel very well. We didn't get to try El Topo because they had closed already but we look forward to trying it next time.

This was our first time here and I’m speechless… I’ve been searching for the perfect spot to take my boyfriend out for his birthday, when this hidden gem was recommended to me. We were both in love with the cozy atmosphere, we did not have reservations- but we arrived at opening time and were sat at the bar with no wait. Courtney our bartender/ server made the whole experience so much better, she was attentive and helpful, we let her pick our charcuterie board and I let her pick my dinner (which was a taco bowl, and it was amazing). Our drinks were incredible and although it was a bit expensive- it was well worth it and we’ll be returning very soon!

Omg! This place is incrediballs first off its as close to a true speak easy as you can possibly get. To get in you need to walk through the existing El Topo restaurant until you are presented with a Pringles vending machine were you need to press the original button to get someone to let you in. The food is amazing and that atmosphere is just as good everything to there fresh original drinks to the brown butter lobstah roll. They have several charcuterie meets thats to chose from with cheeses. Try the Roasted New Zealand Lamb chops.
