We are huge fans of the clarkston location and longtime patrons of FFH. We were excited for the change but after 3 separate visits with very inconsistent results, I feel it’s fair to give a rating now. First visit, opening week, our server was amazing! Super friendly, excited about the changes and prompt. Second visit took 20 min for us to be greeted by our server and over an hour for food. Tonight’s visit; faster service but very unfriendly server who seemed annoyed to be there. Food is hit or miss. The guac and queso are always good and the taco night pizza is great. The taquitos had ZERO flavor and lacked any salt or seasoning. The cesar salad(7.50) for a half portion which was a small bowl with lettuce, dressing and crushed tortilla pieces was very underwhelming. I do think the drink prices are on the high side, especially for a mocktail and pop. The dessert on the other hand(Bundt cake) was one of the best things I’ve ever had and earned them an extra star by itself. Overall, they need some more finesse to the menu, and perhaps more training at the...

I was excited to try Honcho’s, a new spot in Fenton offering Mexican food, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The menu is extremely limited—so much so that it felt more like a pop-up than a full-service restaurant.
You even have to pay for chips and salsa, which is pretty unusual for a Mexican restaurant. Prices are steep across the board. Margaritas are served in highball glasses (not traditional margarita glasses) and cost $13 each. I don’t mind paying for quality—I’m not cheap, and I understand what good food costs—but this just didn’t feel worth it.
There’s also zero atmosphere to match the cuisine. If you walked in without seeing a menu, you’d have no idea they even served Mexican food. There’s no décor, music, or vibe to reflect that. Honestly, I don’t see this place lasting at all unless they make some serious changes.
After spending $30 on just two drinks and seeing the lackluster options, we left and went to Cancun down the road, which offered a far more authentic, affordable, and...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed in this new restaurant! Sat at the bar and it took the waitress 10 minutes to even ask us what we wanted. Then it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. There were no other patrons at the bar except the two of us and maybe only 15 people in the main eating area. After we ordered, it took 30 minutes to just get chips and salsa and then over 30 minutes to get two tacos… not even a full dinner. Just two tacos. The waitress never checked on us or asked if we needed anything! Most Mexican restaurants serve you chips and salsa for free… this place does not!!! The food was good BUT when we got the tacos they were dry with no salsa or sour cream. Everything is À la cart! So in short… we had a beer, margarita, chips and salsa and two tacos for $41.00… that took over 1 hour. We will never go back and I as a Fenton resident will never recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! I really miss the Firehall. It was amazing. Sad that it...
