We went last night for my daughters birthday. We had a large party so we called ahead of time to give them a heads up, and were told we could not make reservations or call ahead. We go there and are told there is a 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. We were also told, since we had a larger party, that we could wait in our car and come back periodically and check. We went back twice to check, and at about an hour and forty five minutes our party walked in. We had two elderly women and 2 children in our party. There were no short seats in the waiting area to sit at, and we were told that they couldnt sit at the sushi bar unless they were going to eat sushi. They are in their 80s and cant get in the high chairs, which are the only chairs they have available when waiting. So we went outside to sit on the bench, which by this time its after 7:30 and it was getting cool, especially for a couple of 84 year olds. My mother in law again checks and now after waiting 2 hours we are told it will be another 50 minute wait. They are telling parties of 4, 5, and even 6 people that there is a 10 minute wait. I go inside and ask the hostess the reason for the wait and she says that their computers are down and they have to do everything by hand. I said that we had already been there for over 2 hours, and if they simply stopped seating small parties that came in hours after us, that we could have a table. She then rolled her eyes and said well I dont know what you expect me to do lady, you have a huge party and you can only go to one table in the back room. I then asked for the manager, who told me that he could get me a drink while I wait, which was declined, and didnt offer a solution to our table, or our seating in the waiting area. As I walked away I heard the snarky hostess say that it wasnt even cold outside today. No it was a very nice day, but to an 84 year old woman it was getting cold as the sun went down. After about 20 mins they finally seated us at one of the tables they told us that we wouldnt fit at in the first place, and therefore we had to wait almost 3 hours to sit down. Our service was fine once we got in, but the room with the "bigger table" we had. Even waiting for was full of parties of 4-5 people who had only waited 10 mins and come in hours after we did. There was never any attempt to make our complaints right, or an explanation for why the table we had been waiting, literally hours for, had been filled with people who waited mere minutes to eat. It was almost 10pm by the time we ate and left there. We will never...
Read morePicture this, freezing cold Saturday afternoon. Windy and flurries. The restaurant doesn't open until 4:30 pm. A crowd is forming at the front entrance. 4:31 the hostess who is dressed in a wrinkled flannel and t -shirt and appears to have only brushed her hair once turns on the open sign and unlocks the door. She then turns and walks away. She didn't open the door. She didn't greet anyone. She didn't smile. She just turned around and went behind the counter. I felt like we were a big inconvenience for her. The other bundle of joy behind the counter kept her black puffy coat on the entire time we were there. Probably hoping to leave. We had a party of 6. 2 of our group wasn't there yet so we had to wait 40 minutes. They told us that they were waiting for a chef. The bartender was pleasant. After about an hour the chef showed up. He was less than excited to be there. The other chefs were engaging, fun and energetic. Having a good time. Playing to their guests. Our chef was quite and reserved. No small talk, no eye contact just business. He reluctantly took our orders and proceeded to clean and prep the cooking surface. He did the usual tricks. Spinning the utensils and making the onion volcano. He cooked and threw the chicken bits to the customers as if it was just boring. My wife went to the bathroom while we were there. 1st parties of the day and there were empty paper towel rolls on the floor and trash cans that were already full. That means they didn't clean the night prior. The young staff that hates each other also hate cleaning. The food all tasted the same. Over salty and flavorless. This location is the McDonalds of Japanese steakhouse. Now it's time to pay. Our bill for 6 was $337. The couple besides us had 6 chicken hibachi on their bill. Wrong table. We sent the card back to settle the bill. The receipt came back to sign and it was $207. Who knows how much it actually was. The staff could care less if you were there or not. We will never be back. This was our first and last time will will eat there. Very disappointed in how we were treated and how bad the food was. What a...
Read moreI love the food here I do. But here's the experience I just had and I am so mad about. All i wanted was some take out Hibachi but I called 4 times before they took my order. The first time they said there was a bad connection so to call back. The second time I asked if they did hibachi to go the guy said yes and said hang on one second I was then placed on hold but i was so excited because i thought they only did sushi to go. But turns out i was placed on hold for 10 minutes, where I could hear everyone talking because they just set the phone down they don't actually put you on hold so I could hear him helping other people and talking to coworkers, so I hung up i was not happy at this point. The third time I called I said can I get hibachi to go the same guy said yeah hang on one minute. I was then put on hold again this time for 5 minutes and then they hung up on me. Now I was fuming. All I wanted was a delicious dinner I could pick up on my way home from work and enjoy in the comfort of my own home, so I tried one last time before giving up all together. And let me tell you I'm not one to talk on the phone or yell at people I don't know. But I decided to be a little sarcastic, maybe witty so the forth time when the same guy answered I said if I order a hibachi dinner to go are you going to put me on hold. He seemed a little taken aback by that, i think he knew it was me again, And he said no and preceded to take my order but he ended up just guessing my order and said you want chicken and fried rice... I said no I want the steak and fried rice (when really i wanted steak and shrimp but i was so fed up at this point) so after an hour of waiting I FINALLY was able to get my order put in but I was ready to give up and get buffalo wild wings. I was not happy. I'm still not happy. I don't think I will ever be getting take out from there again. Which means I'll only get their food like once every 3...
