Easily the worst experience we have had renting a boat ever. The woman checking us in was rude/didn't care to help us at all. We also ran into another family boating the same day who said they experienced the same negative check in experience. We rented a pontoon boat. 5-6 times on the boat it flooded. And I mean completely flooded with 3 inches of water or more. We called and the person on the phone said we were nose diving and to even out the weight of the boat. So we did that and nothing changed. We were too busy worrying about our safety on the boat to have an enjoyable time with friends. Got back to the gas house to fill up and paid for gas - the attendants there were super friendly (which is the only reason I've giving two stars - that and the online booking process was simple and easy). The door broke on the trip from a wave that took out the door which we also mentioned and the lady informed me they wouldn't charge us for the door (thank the lord since we had no control over that). Paid for gas and I kindly expressed my concerns to the attendants at the docking area and they said thanks and they would tell someone. I just hope nobody else has this experience at Geist as it's a beautiful place to boat and in a nice area. I did not expect compensation for the boating day. But I did expect a someone to talk to my family like humans and be kind about it rather than push us off for the next people. Hope they fix the issue with the boat before small children get on, or an elderly person and they aren't as agile as we were to hold on before falling off the boat and injuring ourselves. My best advice is boat somewhere else...

Hubby didn't realize he needed to recharge the battery every 48 hours and he got stuck in the water. When he and I returned to tow the boat someone told an authority figure that we rented our boat.
Obviously they had a conversation about my husband and my question is why was there a conversation about his property in the first place. How did he even come up as a topic of conversation and whether or not he owned the boat.
My husband returned to tow his boat home and they had locked our boat up. This made me so angry. They didn't ask if the boat was rented or anything and just accepted a lie from a stranger. They didn't make the stranger prove how they knew that we rented the boat. They didn't ask if we rented it, they just decided to hijack our boat.
We had to call and get the guy to unlock it and he started trying to question us about our property. Even if the boat was rented all of the other rented boats were not locked up. People just jumped in them and drove off. So why would he lock our boat up simply because someone told him that it was rented.

Read moreThis place is number 1 in customer service! lets start with the 2 lovely young ladies at the desk, Brittany & Nicole. They are always a ray of sunshine when I come in or call. They are always trying to come up with a way to help fix any problem either directly or indirectly. They make coming into the office the best part of my day. The 2 mechanics that I have personally worked with are Colten & Alex. I have to let you know these two gentlemen are amazing. There is nothing they both cannot tackle and when they are stumped they begin to dig and do research to gain the knowledge they need to complete the task. They are always professional and transparent. They will not recommend anything that they think is a waste of time or money. the Manager Rick is top notch and a great leader of this team, and it shows. He even came out to my slip to help me trouble shoot a problem i was having with my boat on a Saturday afternoon. My boat is running better than it ever has before and I 100% grateful for this amazing team. There are other options for winterization and storage for your boat with similar prices, but the customer service that I have received here along with their ability to pull my boat in and out of the water makes doing business with Geist Marina a no brainer.
