TLDR: I am extremely happy with the results of a days’ worth of work Seven Points put in wiring my home with CAT6A ethernet. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend reaching out to them if you need help with wiring your network.
To preface: I have worked in IT and related fields for the last 20 or so years. So, while I am very familiar with network technology, have no problem cutting and terminating my own cables, and can configure advanced-ish networks no problem, actually fishing cable through walls is on the edge of my comfort zone. And definitely outside it when it comes to fishing down through multiple floors or ‘tricky’ areas. So when I decided to finally pull the trigger on running some ethernet wiring in my house, I knew I would be much more comfortable hiring someone to help out.
Now, I already had a fair bit of equipment that I’ve acquired over the last couple years planning for this; a network rack, a patch panel, wireless access points, keystone jacks and wall plates. Most of which were in use in a slapped-together manner in a corner of a closet, where I relied on MoCA adapters to get wired networking to various rooms over standard cable coax. While this ‘worked’, I still wanted to run actual ethernet so I could do 10GBASE-T between my workstation and NAS / virtualization host, and take advantage of PoE. Already had the network rack hung and locations figured for the runs.
So the requirements I was looking at:
11 networks drops: 5 rooms, 2 drops per room and a drop to the ceiling for a WAP CAT6A cable: only really need CAT6, but what’s the slight extra cost in materials when you’re paying for the labor anyway? Installers comfortable using some customer provided equipment.
Reached out to a few places in the area, and Dominic w/ Seven Points gave a reasonable quote, flexible timeframe, and was very responsive to what I was looking to have done. Others I reached out to either gave crazy high quotes (which I read as ‘we don’t want to do this, so here’s a totally unreasonable number), scheduling 2-3 months out, just didn’t respond, or flat out stated they weren’t interested in doing any jobs that didn’t include providing and supporting equipment as well.
We went over a few details on where drops needed to be located, what materials they’d need to provide vs. what I already had, and got a day scheduled that fit my wife and I’s schedule (we both work from home, so was ideal to have the work done on a day that we could take off and stay out of the way).
Dominic’s installers Jacob and Ben showed up early and, after I gave them ‘the lay of the land’, got to work. They got everything cut and ran cleanly and precisely where I needed it, did not leave any messes, were very friendly and professional, and were not bothered (or at least pretended they weren’t!) by my curious questions and observations. They tested and labeled each run, and wire managed it all into my network rack cleanly. They wrapped everything up before the end of the day, and I was able to get to work relocating some of my gear to the network closet and rooms I needed them.

Read moreI work at an MSP based in Cincinnati, but have a client with Rental offices in the Indianapolis area. I requested several estimates from local cabling providers in the area, and Dominic at Seven Points responded very quickly to my request!
My client needed new phone lines installed at their rental property office, and Dominic was excellent with communicating with me for scheduling and has a very knowledgeable team to tackle cabling, internet and telephony needs. I had no complaints from my client about the installation, and they were professional and quick despite the difficult ceiling configuration of the office. They gave great recommendations for new phone systems promptly, and their pricing is very fair.
My same client had another phone line issue at another location, and when I reached out to request help, Seven Points was very quick to respond and had a technician out the next day, and resolved the issue on the day the service call was scheduled for.
I have had a very positive and professional experience working with Seven Points, and recommend their services for any cabling, telephony, and ISP needs in the...
Read moreI'm a huge computer geek, and I wanted to upgrade my home's network setup. This included wiring the house with Ethernet, installing a wireless AP on the upstairs ceiling, and connecting a few exterior cameras for my NVR. Working with Dominic was a breeze, and Jake completed a full day's work in just around three hours. They don't try to upsell you; instead, they are honest about what's realistic. I provided Mikrotiks and cameras, and they mounted and connected everything perfectly.
Though they primarily handle commercial work, they did an excellent job on this residential project. Without a doubt, Seven Points would be my top recommendation for anyone in need of networking services.
Note: The pictured "server room" (laundry room) setup is my own work. Dominic and his team are incredibly organized, and if I had them install a rack and patch panel, it would feature top-notch cable management (unlike mine). They neatly brought the bundle of white cables through the ceiling...
