Mariam Coffee — Restaurant in Fishers

I love coming here after work to relax and unwind. They have really good Turkish coffee made with heated sand! Would recommend to all coffee lovers! There are electrical outlets by all of the tables along the walls. And they are the type for 3 pronged plugins or USB type C or just USB plugins. So great for charging laptops, phones, or tablets. They also serve so many different interesting hot and cold beverages like coffee with a scoop of ice cream or an espresso tonic. And you can customize them how you like with extra shots of espresso, added honey, or milk, or whip cream for example. They also have many different types of fresh pastries and cakes. They have baklava which is a great pastry if you have never tried it. And the staff here are very kind and friendly. They are happy to answer any questions you have or make anything to your specification. The tables here all have etched in logos and are very nice and the seating is padded and cushoned so it is very comfortable. Which makes this one of my favorite places to go to. My fiancé and I wanted to try this new coffee spot because of the good reviews but we were left a bit disappointed. The shop itself is very cute and pretty- well decorated. The service however was slow and not the most outgoing. The person at the register was not the most friendly or helpful. We ordered an iced pumpkin cardamom latte and a iced cinnamon dolce latte, both with oat milk, medium size and added 1 additional shot since medium drinks only come with one (also strange to us because we always get a quad shot at other coffee shops and pay less overall). It was about $7-8 per iced latte. It took 25 minutes from the time we left a tip to when we got our coffees. Every other customer that was sitting at the shop was on their phones and seemed to be waiting awhile for their drinks as well (about 2-3 couples). The coffees tasted okay, plain for being “flavored lattes.” My pumpkin cardamom tasted like a plain iced latte with sprinkles of pumpkin seasoning. I’m truly disappointed to say that Mariam Coffee Shop has just lost a consistent daily customer. I’ve been ordering the Dubai Chocolate Bar regularly through Uber, and since it doesn’t appear on the menu, I was always able to call and have a helpful staff member guide me through a workaround: ordering the Iced Dubai Bar with added toppings to match the original product and price. This simple and effective solution kept me coming back every day.

Unfortunately, this morning’s experience changed everything. The employee working today; who, for identification purposes, used the word “axed” instead of “asked”; was not only unwilling to assist with this workaround, but also responded with a clear attitude and zero willingness to help. It’s incredibly frustrating when good customer service is replaced by rudeness and laziness.
