We ordered Fajitias and a chimichanga. Paid 20% tip for delivery as they have had a delivery van bring us our food. We didn’t get any of the fajitia chicken or shrimp or the sides to go in them. Called and basically they said “come and get it or get a credit”. Then the girl who was on the phone said she knows she put it in our bag. Our bag was sealed and since they have staffing issues, they used doordash! Thanks hostess who calls me a liar and I don’t lie so you have absolutely no customer service. I told them I have already paid for this and tipped nicely and need them to either deliver or they can have doordash bring it down since it’s their error. Talked to a manager and she said they can’t deliver the food nor do DoorDash so either I drive to get it or they credit me! Unbelievable. You’re gonna tell me no employee in the store has the DoorDash app and can expense it for reimbursement since it’s their failure? Never again! They just lost a very loyal customer and hopefully this reviews puts up red flags for others. Not doordashes fault their staff is obviously incompetent and it’s not doordashes mistake. Told the manager I would share this experience and to give me a credit and her response was “ok have a good night!” What happened to our world with customer service and people being accountable! Not even owning up they made the mistake? Come on. Sorry not sorry but you need to have your staff understand how to handle mistakes and in this situation, the customer was right and you failed miserably! Good bye Tequila Sunrise. You will be replaced by someone who deserves our business and treats us...

I was impressed overall. That's not easy for me with mexican food these days, and especially here in the Midwest.
Rice and beans: I've said for a long time that you can tell a good place from a bad by the rice and beans. Most mexican restaurants "phone it in" on these side staples. Not here! The rice was moist, flavorful, and seasoned! The beans were rich and hearty and displayed their pinto bean origins nicely. It's been years since I've been presented both of these on point like this.
Everyone liked their meals, which was delightful for a change!
The menu: My goodness, it's BIG... Rarely do places with such a voluminous menu actually offer such a variety. Typically it's 100 different descriptions of basically the same base items rearranged into various combinations, but no real effort to inspire with culinary born imagination. They do here, and it's a sight for sore eyes (and hungry stomachs).
Tequila Sunrise, thank you for being traditional in flavor and imaginative in creation!
My only negatives: The booth was a bit small. We had a little trouble fitting us and the food into it.
The menu being large means you don't figure out what you want very quickly, and the wait staff could use a little...
Read moreReading reviews and a preview of the menu, we were excited to try a place that was new to us. Walking in, it’s very upscale...not your typical decor and way different from when it was Mexico City Grill years back. Reminded me a bit of Nada downtown. I will say that we did go at an “off time” around 330 pm. The service was very slow. The salsa had not the slightest bit of spice and when we asked for hotter salsa they brought tobasco, cholula and el yucateco so we could add it ourselves. The chips were thick and cold. The chori-queso was runny and flavorless and barely warm. The fajitas were the worst I’ve ever had. A few meager strips of chicken and steak and a TON of tomatoes. Again the food was not super hot and definitely not the sizzling platter you expect when fajitas are delivered to your table. My impression is that they precook the strips of meat and then warm them for the order. We got the top shelf margaritas and they were just ok. At $15 each I expected to be impressed. Definitely will not return and if you are someone with an appreciation of good food and quality cocktails, we suggest you don’t...
