I have never been treated so poorly in my life. My husband and I loved to shop here for our son for the action figures and my daughter for the funko pops. We are newer customers to the store and we originally were so excited about this store. I went in and bought two action figures for my son for Christmas, after I left I checked on Amazon to see if they had them and they did and they were significantly cheaper so I called within an hour of leaving and asked if I could return, the man on the phone said yes that was fine. I decided to keep one of the figures because it was only five dollars cheaper on Amazon. The other figure was 15$ cheaper so I went the following morning to return it. When I walked in there was an older woman working there with long grey hair and glasses. I said hi, I was thinking of maybe exchanging this but Iām gonna look around. because I like to support local business so was gonna see if I could find something else that was not as expensive. She was looking over the packaging to make sure it had not been opened which I understand, to reassure her I said I didnāt open it . It was for a Christmas gift. She got so nasty and said I still have to check it, in the nastiest tone and I said oh ok no problem and she was like yeah again with a nasty tone. I couldnāt find anything so I went up to do the return, the women told me. You canāt return this. We donāt do returns. I told her I had spoken to a gentleman on the phone yesterday who said I could return it. I was never once rude. She then proceeded to call me a liar basically and she said no, you said you were coming in to do an exchange and now your story has changed. I said well yes I was gonna look around and thatās what I had said to you that I might do an exchange but on the phone yesterday, I asked if I could do a return because I found the items cheaper on Amazon. I told her what the man told me on the phone and then I asked for the name of the man, which she went out of her way to try to not give to me his name. The entire time her voice was dripping with sarcasm and her body language and facial expressions were so demeaning. She basically called me a liar and told me that I was changing my story to try to take advantage which is not at all what I was trying to do. I was told, Iām assuming, by the owner of the store that I could do the return and then when I came in to do the return was called a liar and was treated so poorly, she couldāve said what she needed to say and been polite about it but instead she talked down to me. She had the nastiest expression on her face and she was beyond rude, itās so unfortunate but I will not be spending my money there ever again and I would not recommend this store to anyone ever again like I used to. I work hard for my money and I want to know Iām spending it somewhere where Iām appreciated and respected as a customer. Great selection of items, awful customer service.
Edit to respond to the OWNERS answer to me. Number one you never said I had to do the return that day. I never said I was coming rite back either my daughter had basketball. So that is a manipulation of our conversation to make you and your staff look good. Second I was never once rude to that women who works there. Whenshe looked at the packaging all I did was smile and say oh itās a gift for my son for Xmas just 2 make small talk.i know there are policies I work in customer service myself. Second yes I will hold you accountable and give you one star because itās your store. she is your employee and she was beyond rude to me from the minute I walked in she was nasty to me. When I originally walked in, I was going to do an exchange and buy the dr Oc. But the way she treated me when I told her I didnāt open the packaging and she jumped down my throat and talked to me so Nasty immediately turned me off to the store and made me not want to spend my money there and made me want to get the refund. Iām not upset at her for upholding policy Iām upset with her for the way She spoke to me and called me a liar she was awful to me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll-around the best comics & pop-culture shop in Northern KY and the place I go to spend almost all of my comics dollars. Mike and Tess are fantastic owners who provide the BEST customer service and really take care of their customers. In my opinion, the best place to shop for a few reasons. First, they're friendly, thorough, and helpful. They keep tight records about what you purchase, when you bought it, and what books they've pulled for you. This is really helpful if you collect a lot of titles and sometimes forget what you've bought. They take initiative to be friendly, engaging, and helpful and I've never asked a favor that they didn't take the time to fulfill. On most Wednesdays and weekends, there are a few other "helpers" that hang around the shop to answer questions and help you shop; these guys are very friendly, talkative, and know comics well and they won't make you feel stupid for asking questions. Secondly, their store is very well-rounded. Whether you like comics (new or back issues), TPBs, gaming, original-art, posters, statues, POP figures, or even pinball machines, you'll find it all at C2G. This means that there is always something for everyone in your family. Not all of my kids read comics, but they always have a blast playing games or window-shopping some other product while I'm in the store shopping. It's also kid-friendly, which means a lot to me. No foul-language, graphic material, or rude treatment of kids when they're in the store. The owner took almost 1/2 hour one afternoon to teach my 8 yr old how to play pinball (on the house) just to keep him occupied while I shopped. Now he wants to go back every time we're in Florence. Finally, the store is very well-stocked with just about every kind of comic or pop-culture items you could want. There is lots of space since the store expanded, so it's not overly crowded. There's room to move and lots of visual excitement; colors, products, and inventory, all very well organized and easy to access. All the new comics are always there including variants, and there are tons of back issues and keys available. There aren't a lot of really "old" comics yet (i.e. Golden age) but Mike is always expanding his inventory, buying collections, and open to trading and buying good stuff that will move. Finally, their prices are fantastic. They have a great discount program for those who buy a lot of new stuff and their prices on back issues are the most reasonable that I've found. You'll find lots of books priced cheaper than you'll find at other stores or shows. It's clear that they want to move products rather than gouge their customers on the latest "hot" books. The owner is very reasonable when it comes to making offers and working out deals. There's more to say I'm sure, but these are the reasons I shop weekly at this store. Best in NKY in my opinion! Truly a great place to "hang out" for a few hours per week and get your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo Comics 2 Games has a good selection of comics, games and collectibles. I have stopped in several times when I'm in town visiting family.
The organization of comics on the shelf is not great. The underlying logic seems sound but the execution is not. First, comics are grouped by publisher, so all Marvel in one section, DC in another etc.... but then the titles are grouped via character, not alphabetically. All Thor titles are together even of the actual title is "The Mighty Thor." That title will be under T not M. Maybe regular customers are used to it, but as a visitor, it was not intuitive. Then the larger publishers books are all crowded in their space, which made finding specific titles even more challenging.
Then when I walked in, there were two employees. One behind the register, the other on the phone with a distributor. No problem, that's life in a small business. No one talked to me but that's cool. Just looking around. There was steady flow of customers and business seemed good.
I grabbed a new comic book and headed to checkout. Now the roles of employees were reversed, the one formerly on the phone was now behind the counter and the other on the phone. And there was a line... so be it. I was about fifth in line, and the guy ringing people up was a little chatty, more than I'd like, but again, I get it. They were clearly regular customers. They had big stacks of comics and such. Buy when I finally got to register, both employees were there and neither seemed to be in a rush. Worse, at no point was I acknowledged other than to be told what my book cost. No "Did you find everything?" No "Hello" No "Thank you." They did manage to talk about the faulty drawer on their cabinet... one managed to grab the pull list for a customer who walked in the door and greet her, and talk about her little one beig with grandparents, while the other just stood looking at my order.
Intentional or not, the message sent to me was that people who spend more money are worthy of conversation. Visitors who are just stopping by are not for a little purchase are not. They will not need to worry about me stopping by again.
TLDR- not intuitively organized. No words spoken...
