On 11/21/24, I purchased a 2020 Landrover Discovery from Traverse GMT auto sales 225 N. Hwy 67, which included a 30 day warrenty. The sales person was Joe. Drove off the lot, and the brake light was out. Called on Friday, 11/22/24, spoke to Joe, told him the brake light was out and that I didn't have the emissions or inspection paperwork. He told to take the car Traverse Premier Auto to have it repaired. On 11/25/24 took my car to Traverse Premier for the brake light repaired +the emissions and inspection. The next day they called me to pick up the car + inspection and emissions. Got home but the brake light was still out. Took the car back on 11/27/24 later that day and was told they couldn't fix the brake light and to bring the car back after Thanksgiving and they would drive the car to Plaza Landrover for repair. I dropped my car off on 12/2/24 to Traverse Premier and didn't get my car back until 12/6/24.
From 12/6/24 to 12/17/24 I had my car but I really wasn't driving it to much because I felt like it was driving weird. It was doing a alot of perking and stalling when I would push on the accelerator, and my plan was to take it to Traverse Premier to have them look at it before the warrenty went out.
On 12/18/24 I was driving my car on the highway with my daughter when all of a sudden I couldn't accelerate when I pushed on the pedal. I kept pushing and pushing but the car would not go. Can you imagine being on the highway going 70 miles per hour then all of a sudden you lose power! ( just for reference I'm a female who know very little about cars). Anyhow, I manage to get the car to Plaza motors landrover. I had to keep pumping the gas pedal. I dropped the car off, told them what was going on and was told typically the the dealership who has the warranty wants the car back but that I could get a courtesy diagnostic. The same day I stopped by Traverse Premier auto told them what was going on and was told that I needed to bring the car back to them. So when I told Landrover I needed to bring the car back to Traverse Premier they said to have Traverse Premier call them. When I told this to Traverse Premier, Mike the manager did call Landrover in my presence and left a message.
Somewhere between 12/18/24 and 12/20/24 the diagnostic was approved by Traverse Premier auto . It was discovered that the TURBOCHARGER UNDERBOOST needed to be replaced $4462.51 plus some other recommended repairs. On 12/23/24 I followed up with Landrover and they said the estimate was sent to Traverse Premier Auto and they are waiting on approval to do the work.
On 12/30/24 I found out that Mike, from Traverse Premier said don't touch anything and would pick up the car. I had the car towed that same day to Traverse Premier no telling when Mike had told Landrover not to fix.
Since then I have made multiple phone calls to Traverse Premier asking if . Ive spoken to Nikki, and Will several times. They never have any updates, and say they will call me back but dont. I even called the sales manager at Traverse GMT auto Brian, on 1/2/25 to tell him what going and he said the same thing I'll call back but hasn't.
Ita now 1/3/25 and my car is still at Traverse Premier. I still don't know if Traverse Gmt will honor the warranty. The car broke down 4 days before the warrenty expired. Noone from Traverse GMT auto nor Traverse Premier Auto will call me back.
I'm writing this review because this was absolutely the Worst experience Ive ever had with any car dealership. I mean it doesn't cost anything to return a customers call! Why leave a customer feeling like they have been ripped out? I am the most patient person but this whole experience has KILLED MY JOY! So because noone is willing to work with me and/or at a minimum call me back to let me know if they will honor the warranty I have no other choice but to post this review and file a formal complaint and go thru arbitration. The one reviewer who said this dealership doesn't care now that they have your money and they know all the loop holes is...
Read moreI dropped my car off on 4/10/23 because my check engine light came on 3 weeks after I purchased my vehicle. I took it here solely because this shop is affiliated with travers motor city auto plaza where I purchased the vehicle. Mike Darnell called and informed me I'd have to pay $1,300. Since I am a female and I also don't know anything about cars, I visited the shop with my grandfather to discuss the details of the repair. When I arrived with my grandfather, suddenly the price changed from $1,300 to $924 with Mike mentioning that the original price he quoted me included a job that was "recommended" but not required which he never mentioned to me prior that he put an extra change for something that wasn't even required to fix my vehicle. Had I not arrived with my grandfather, I'm sure he would have still stuck with the higher price without mentioning that part of the repair was just something suggested. Since my car has been here, I've called several times and left voicemails with no answer and I was told this was because "we can't handle the volume of calls that comes in". I was waiting on the manager at the car sales place to assist me with covering the cost and I told them to hold off on the repairs until we figure this out. Mike Darnell then calls me asking if it was okay to fix my vehicle, I even have the voicemail on my phone of him requesting permission to repair my car on 4/13/23 and I played the voicemail for him since he claimed I gave them the OK to fix it prior to that voicemail. Why would your employee leave me a voicemail requesting to repair it if I actually gave you consent? well that's because consent was not given clearly. I communicated with him that we're not going to move forward with repairs multiple times. He literally told me to "disregard" the voicemail because there was lack of communication between him and the mechanics and apparently the mechanics already fixed my car on 4/11/23 and replaced the part WITHOUT my permission prior to him even requesting consent to repair it which doesn't make sense. So I am at fault for the company's disorganization and lack of communication. Mike was extremely rude and dismissive so I am very surprised that he's working at the front desk as the front line employee dealing with customers directly when he doesn't understand what true customer service really is. He is extremely forgetful as he doesn't recall saying certain things and everything he tells you is different from the previous time you spoke with him. I've decided to record all conversations with this company and I suggest any one dealing with them, does the same as nothing aligns and you're told several different things. The news outlet has already been contacted because this service is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend them if they were the only repair...
Read moreI purchased a 2013 RAM 1500 from Travers Automotive GMT in March 2025 with a 30-day warranty. Within 15 days, the brake system completely failed. I was forced to bring it to their affiliated garage, Premier Auto (required to keep the warranty valid). They told me the brakes had been inspected and repaired.
Only weeks later, the brakes failed again. This time, they told me it was just a defective caliper. Then, just a couple of weeks after that, the brakes failed for a third time. At that point, both the shop manager Mike and the office manager Mike told me my brake pads had worn down so low they had actually “fallen off,” causing the calipers to overextend and leak fluid. That explanation makes no sense for a truck purchased less than three months prior — and one they had supposedly “fully inspected” twice already.
Instead of honoring responsibility, they lied, shifted the story each time, and then made me pay $600 out of pocket for that third repair, even though the problem had never been properly fixed. Less than 48 hours later, the brakes failed yet again.
During this same period, the tie rod end separated, which led to uneven tire wear and a dangerous highway blowout. I had to tow the truck to Dobbs, spend $585 on two new tires, and another $600 in electrical repairs for problems caused by a dealer-installed device and a defective key fob.
Altogether, I’ve spent thousands in repairs for a truck that remains unsafe and undriveable. As an independent masonry contractor, I’ve also lost tens of thousands in business because I cannot transport materials or equipment to job sites.
And to make matters worse, when I called Sales Manager Brian to ask for a solution, he literally hung up on me. When I asked him if Travers sells bad cars and doesn’t care, he responded: “Yup.”
Travers Automotive GMT and their affiliated garage, Premier Auto, have shown a pattern of lies, deception, and negligence. They sold me an unsafe truck, failed to repair it, shifted blame, and treated me with disrespect. Their conduct has endangered me and my family and caused devastating financial harm.
I strongly urge others: avoid this dealership...
